Hi, basically what title says!
I’m 22 weeks pregnant with 3rd baby and this last 24 hours I’ve had a lot of strong braxton hicks.
no consistency or pattern though
a constant ache and pressure in my vagina almost like being full term with that baby’s head is there feeling if that makes sense? And general superpubic pelvic ache.
I’ve got no uti symptoms
No smell or dark colour, not peeing anymore than usual. But due to where the pain is and history of bad utis I thought I’d dip my urine for uti anyway.
Over the past 24 hours 8+ samples have all been extremely positive for protein
negative for nitrates etc. I’ve had a mild constant headache last few days but nothing unbearable.
I had hellp syndrome with my second baby in 2024 and delivered at 36 weeks
but never once had the high blood pressure just everything else ie: protein in urine, liver pain, low platelets low hb and raised liver enzymes.
Thank you in advance
( I did call mau and they said my urine tests are probably faulty and it’s probably just baby’s positioning…)

@JulietteHasAGun the mucus has just happened today throughout the afternoon. I know on its own it doesn’t mean much and there’s no blood and it can be normal for small parts to come away and regenerate so I’m not sure wether to hold off and pester the community midwife about it that I see the day after tomorrow, or to go back to mau (they must be sick of me at this point 😆)

Thank goodness you've got a midwife appointment tomorrow. Fingers crossed she's sympathetic and really listens to you. How's things today?

Lili23 · 19/05/2026 16:51

update
signed into my badger notes app last night to see that my midwife appointment for today had been cancelled yesterday 🤦‍♀️🫠
so I ended up self presenting to mau
they took bloods this morning and said someone will call me with results
they tried to do a speculum but said more of the internal cells had migrated to the outside and again caused a lot of bleeding which meant they also couldn’t do the fibronectin pre term swab because blood would interfere with the result.
they also said cervix is 1cm but as I’ve previously had 2 babies they’re not worried.
I did a urine sample before leaving the house and dipped it myself which was ++ protein
they dipped my urine gave it about 15 seconds said it was all negative and binned it.
and then I was sent home and told not to worry and if I get consistent contractions or waters breaking then I should call an ambulance instead 😴
the blood pressure they did was 121/81
I did show them my booking and baseline blood pressure is far lower than this. Again they weren’t concerned.

@Lili23 hand hold. (and PALS? have you looked into them? this feels like terrible patient care to me)

@Lili23 how are things? I’ve just read your whole thread and am appalled at how you’re not being listened to. I hope you’re ok.
