Does anyone have any recent experience of the maternity team at Kingston Hospital? If so would you recommend them?

I would Absolutely recommend them - I’ve had all my children there and will be having one more there this year too.

Also recommend without hesitation! Pre and post natal care were amazing as well as the birth itself.

Peachesthecat · 08/05/2026 18:35

Same here, amazing!

Thanks for your responses, that’s good to know. Can I ask more about why you had such good experiences? And did anyone have a c-section there? I’m confused because someone recommended it to me but having just looked at the CQC website it was rated “requires improvement” for safety in maternity.

It's not like Epsom and St Helier and St Georges are any better on CQC ratings! Where else would you go?

@MrsMabelThorpeNot sure yet. Can you not choose somewhere else in London to go?

Kingston Hospital maternity is rated good overall - or at least it was last year when I had my baby. I would absolutely recommend them, I had a great experience - and that's after having a 36 hour labour ending in an emergency c-section. I saw every type of delivery room during my stay ha 😅The midwives were wonderful throughout, surgery team were excellent (my wax therapist says my scar is one of the best she's ever seen 😂) and assuming everything goes well, you get your own room on the post natal ward.

I have a friend that chose a different West London hospital for her delivery because of its outstanding CQC rating and had a terrible time post natally after her planned c-section.

You probably wouldn’t want to travel far in labour. I would probably only consider your closest 2-3 hospitals.

I gave birth at st Helier 3 times and would recommend

@SalmonRunnerPleased you had such a positive experience! Love the scar anecdote 😂 It’s rated good overall but weirdly requires improvement for safety in maternity (I don’t understand how it can be good overall but never mind). If you don’t mind me asking, which was the different West London hospital that your friend chose (CW)?
