When I have my next baby my dd will be 26 months and I was thinking of buying an ICandy pear has anyone used one before?
I'm also thinking of buying this for now as our stroller is knackered. I have a Gesslein pram/pushchair which is lovely, again I wondered if anyone has any experience of this?? It's only £150 too, reclines to flat position and has large shopping basket.

can you wait until early july? Mia mODA are bringing out some lovely new doubles- at a very reasonable cost!

Oh greenmonkies, that's a good sling, definitely going to get myself one of them. What I think I will do is wait until DC3 is here and see how I manage with Bugaboo/babydan seat/buggyboard (already got one for DD1 but she is too old for it now) and buy a sling.

Bit of a problem is that the Bugaboo doesn't have a separate unit for the pushchair/pram combo, you have to take it apart to change it over so I couldn't use it one day with DD2 sitting in pushchair then the next with DC3 in the pram! AHHHHH!!!!

you could buy a seperate seat frame, they are about £60 i think. then you could have the carrycot and the seat set up. the booseater is great for the buggyboard. my little boy loved it as he was facing his little sister.

Mel2005, you have read my mind, just been looking at the frames on ebay. Are they £60 to buy direct from Bugaboo? I obviously have the carrycot bottom part and could change the hood easily. Thanks!

mel2005 · 21/06/2008 13:46

i bought one a few years ago and it was about £60 from bugaboo i think. you can call them and ask how much they are now or you can order bits through the stockists like john lewis. sometimes bits go for more on e-bay than direct. i dont think the hood frames were much, something like £10????

Well the ICandy pear is too small for dd even now at 20 months, quite liked the Nipper twin but the facing away things a bit of a nightmare.
Might get a Petite star Zia, nice colours, £109, free rain cover, folds a small as a Quniiy Zapp and reclines. This is going to be the one for my long haul alone with my three, dc1 6, dc2 5 and dc3, 20 months!!! I'm going to but a net shopping bag for extra shopping ease as I'll be without DH for 5 weeks before he meets us in Thailand....Oh woe is me!!!

twelvelegs- that sounds like a handful! I should talk I'm going to have 3 under four come november.

pgwithnumber3- I considered the babydan seat on my bugaboo frog but I decided it was a nono as the pram fixes to the base on a central clip- putting the seat on it puts a lot of pressure on that central load bearing point and makes the carrycot wobble- the old style prams fit on a cross frame so would be much more stable. I guess it depends how big your toddler is, my DS is a big lad, and he'd only been walking a few months when DD was born.

I have a sling too, a didymos which is fab, but there are times when you need to put the baby down, and having toddlers at home full time to run after and bend down to with a baby in a sling is hard work after a while.

I also kept my bugaboo with a board for a while but came to the conclusion that DS walked unless he was tired and then he needed a comfy seat. He is also much more inclined to walk than a lot of his buddies who just stand on the boards the whole time.

It one big dilemma, I know! I hope you find the right combo for you.

Thanks for that advice Pinky, I see where you are coming from. A couple of people on different sites have reviewed it after using it on their Bug, they had differing opinions of how stable it was. DD2 is quite small but don't want to break my pram!

Mum told me to get an old Silver Cross so I could put DD on one of those old fashioned seats, she thought it was a good idea until I mentioned I would have to leave my DC outside shops - unfortunately it is not the good old days anymore - can you imagine if I did that, I would be flamed!

I think I will keep bug, get a sling, use buggyboard but also buy a standard double pushchair (Maclaren). How boring!

Sorry for hijacking your thread Twelvelegs!

You won't lose anything by hanging onto your bug to see how you get on- they sell well on ebay all day long- it's a lot of trial and error til you find what suits, I think.

I will have 17 month gap between my two and I have just about convinced myself to buy an Inglesina Domino.

Sure, it's the same length as a car, but I just can't find anything else I'd rather buy.
