Surgical management of miscarriage

This is my first pregnancy, found out at 11 weeks I am having a delayed miscarriage. I had surgical management on Monday and have just realised the hospital didn’t tell me much about aftercare in terms of when it’s safe to have sex again and when we could try again.
My husband thinks it’s a good idea to wait a month to try again to let my body heal which I understand, but I feel desperate to try again as soon as possible. Can anyone who’s had the surgical management tell me about their experiences and what they did?
TIA

This advice page says its best to wait one cycle before trying to conceive again so I'd probably go with what your husband is suggesting. You've been through a lot so giving yourself that small bit of space to process your loss and regroup is perhaps a good thing too. Understandable that you're desperate to try again though. I wish you all the best.

I was told best to wait for one cycle for ease of dating a new pregnancy. Also to take a pregnancy test after 2-3 weeks to make sure all hormones were out of your system. Physically I know they said to wait until you stop bleeding to prevent infection, otherwise its very much when you feel ready. Honestly we started trying again almost straight away as that was what felt right/best mentally for us. Sorry for your loss ❤️

So sorry you’re going through this. I had a missed miscarriage and surgical management and really wanted to try again asap. Read up about it and the only reason they suggest waiting for a cycle is to make it easier to date the pregnancy. I wasn’t that bothered about easy dating so we just waited til I’d stopped bleeding and pregnancy tests were negative and then started trying again before I’d had a period. I think for some people the best way to get through it is just to start again straight away. Didn’t actually conceive for 5 months though (healthy baby boy 😊)

Sorry for your loss OP Flowers
I had medical management at 11 weeks. I was told:
-no intercourse, even with a condom, till any bleeding had completely stopped for 48hrs
-no tampons, baths, jacuuzi for at least 48hrs after the last bleeding
-I strangely wasn't told this, but they recommend a pregnancy test 2-3 weeks after to check your level is back to zero.

I've been on MN many years now, and sadly many that get pregnant straight away have an MC again. Not all, there are some that go to term, but from my own reading it seems that uterus needs time to recover too.
This site might be useful too. They have a live chat line if you want to speak to someone too. Remember that this isn't your fault and you aren't alone xxx:
