Have been fine (bar a few weeks all over the place emotionally at 6/7 weeks) but yesterday and today am on the verge of tears (but not sad....?) all the time.

A tad embarrassing at work trying not to cry into keyboard while wrestling with Powerpoint...

yes, im 18 weeks and been crying a lot this past week, so have a few on the due on nov thread. I had to text my friend who's had her baby and i said, im crying, i feel really emotional etc for absolutely no reason. she assured me it was normal. Once i started i couldnt stop, crying over various things in life like my damaged car but then i was sobbing at my changing body and the fact i couldnt reach my toes properly. i opened a floodgate i think! i feel much better now!! im sure it'll happen again and again....

Oh that makes me feel so much better! I have been cliche pregnancy so far (sick on the dot of 8 weeks, turned a nausea corner at 16 weeks, etc.), but I've not read anything abut tears at 17 weeks, so just wondered. Thanks very much.

Me too! I cried in Eastenders last night, I cried because my dinner was so delicious, I cried when I saw the puddle of water at the bottom of the defrosting freezer this morning, I cried reading a review of Couscous - it never ends.. I certainly hope this goes away eventually - strangely I've never seen my mother cry so I assume it does?

I did a fair bit of crying (mainly not upset, just sort of overflowing) from 14-20 weeks.

After that I also cried, but I was so shattered and trying to commute and work that I was exhausted. Eventually I gave in, went off sick, saw GP and got painkillers and a sick note, and after a few days of sleep I've been fine.

So it could just be hormones but if you're actually gutted it could be a sign you're overdoing it for your body.

Thanks Jette and Notcitrus - and Jette LOL at crying at freezer puddle and delicious dinner.

Last night I got stuck on the tube for an hour, then someone elbowed my boob as I got off the tube and I cried the whole way home. Little 'poor sweet me' cries.

Ridiculous, and certainly hoping it passes...

Don't panic Fufulina! Tis perfectly normal to blart without warning at anything, sad or not!!

I'm 26wks with dc2 and last night I shed a tear at Germany winning the football cos it meant I had at least won my money back (I have them in the office sweepstake).

I am truly pathetic

I've bene pretty emotional all the way through but was a big ball of depressive mess 17-18weeks, then it suddenly cleared up and I've been happy as larry since....still crying but mainly at happy things now! (absolutely balled buckets when i watched my borhter run the marathon and my dad do help for heroes....dear god!)

jennylindinha · 20/06/2008 12:06

I was pretty emotional before being pg but it definitely got worse! I'm just wiping a tear away now after reading all your posts and I'm 26 wks! The marathon - god watching that always gets me anyway. It does get better though, I'm generally quite happy now and less teary

But stay away from daytime tv charity ads! They are guaranteed to make you bawl.
