Try eating some local honey every day (it must be local) as RL friends swear by it

Got to be worth a try

bethoo · 19/06/2008 13:19

does it say it is ok to take on the packet? call gp and ask otherwise i would take it. i am sure someone else is taking it and they re preggers but check to be sure. someone is bound to know.

I started with the local honey as soon as I knew I was pg, in January. I'd heard the theory before, but also that it took a few weeks to be effective. So far have only had one bad attack. I've seen this in the shops, could be worth a try: www.haybalm.f2s.com/. Also advice on NHS direct website www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=935

Hope that helps.

Go to your GP. Your pg may be making your asthma worse (and hayfever won't help either).

Do you have a peak flow meter? Have you been taking your brown inhaler as well as the blue one?

Please get this checked out - if you're struggling to breathe you may need to increase your meds.

Suggest talking to the asthma nurse if you have one in your practice. Also, in general terms, illnesses in late pregnancy do tend to 'switch off' during labour - the body puts all its resources into the birth and I found that the stinking cold I'd had for WEEKS before just disappeared, and never came back. So try not to worry about labour, and put your effort in getting some help for right now - you deserve it.

PS Try health food shops, posh delis, farm shops, farmerss' markets', Tesco and Waitrose for local honey.

Failing local honey, try any decent quality honey, but it won't be so effective.
