Slight brown discharge TMI warning

So for the past three days i've had a really small amount of brown cm when i've gone for a poo (sorry about the tmi) - it's like it has got a little old blood in it. this is freaking me out, but it's only a tiny amount and for the rest of the day i have clear white cm.

i'm ten weeks, still have sore breasts and feel sick. has anybody else had this, is it something i need to worry about? should i ask my doctor? would be grateful for any advice

As I understand it (as a serial bleeder in pg ) ANY bleeding in pg should always be checked out. There are lots of reasons pg women bleed (eg cervical erosion, low lying placenta)

The fact that it's brown (as you say old blood) & so little is a very good sign, & there is probably nothing to worry about. But I'd make a doc appt to check. They may well refer you to Early Preg Unit for an extra scan to check all's well.

Goog luck - sure it will all be well (& hopefully you'll get an extra scan photo of your babe )

no extra scans - shame, would love another look at lo - but doc figures it's nothing to worry about, tiny remnants of implantation (come back if there's more. or a smell, or cramps, or fever..). reassured.

Hi stripeywoollenhat

I have exactly the same symptoms as you Im now 8wk+2 at 6 weeks I had a brown disharge almost like end of normal period after a had strained going to No.2 (tmi-sorry)then went back to normal I had a scan at 6wks+4 where they showed me what appeared to be little flicker of a heartbeat but as not quite clear booked me back in for another scan, that was yesterday where we saw little bean measuring 15mm with a fast healthy heartbeat and now disharged me to normal m/w appointments, however to my utter dispair I have just been to toilet and found brown discharge on panty liners and freaking out now! All they could tell me is it sometimes happens and could be the old cells of your womb lining coming away - its a way of your womb cleaning itself to give baby a clean healthy home needless to say after one previous mmc Im scared of it happening again which will now be even worse as mentally had just started to relax and telling myself to enjoy my pregnancy - I just wish I could be scanned everyday to check bean still ok!

teary i am sure that if you saw your little one yesterday and it was fine then old brown blood today is not anything to worry about, but if it continues you should go back to doc. i know what you mean about mmc, i had one in january and i am really easy to freak out now...

thankyou stripeywoollenhat I fully sympathise I never realised the impact a mc can have until I went thru it especially one that is silent as it is so unexpected! I keep looking at my scan pics from yesterday and its breaking my heart to think I could lose my little bean Im trying to reassure myself by the fact the discharge is brown and light but just keep getting that sinking feeling of dread! Although my body is telling me its all ok as feeling particularly sick this evening! fingers crossed!

I too have had lots of brown disc which I assumed was old blood and ok (checked on here in fact) but then last week I had lots of red. went to dr who sent me for early scan, fully expecting to be told it was gone - but 7 week bean with heartbeat! Still anxious as had mmc in April, 12 week scan with no heartbeat. Scared still that this will happen again. So - blood (red or brown) or no blood, can't win! Always worth talking to GP if concerned I reckon.
