Anyone with preeclampsia discharged before delivery with close monitoring

As above. 34 weeks and had been feeling great bar the dreaded third trimester sausage ankles. In for a check up today to find out I have sky high blood pressure and proteins in urine. Baby is super - dancing up a storm on my diaphragm and head butting my bladder. I’ve been admitted with preeclampsia for monitoring and told I’ll be here until delivery. Sob!

Dr Google tells me that in some cases, women may be allowed home where condition stabilises, subject to close monitoring. Has this happened for any MNer - could I feel the wind on my face again before April - or is AI trying to make me feel better?

Stay there
You and Baby are safest there

I was but only because my blood pressure was borderline when they sent me for further testing, I was also further along at 38 weeks and I was induced less than 48 hours later anyway (for pre-eclampsia and reduced movement). The AI is probably picking up on cases like mine where it was more borderline. Hospital is the safest place for you and baby to be right now.

Honestly, stay where you are and accept that you're likely in until delivery. Huge sympathy, because it sucks and it's boring and stressful. Stay there anyway. You're in the safest place for both of you. Pre-eclampsia can get serious very quickly (like within a couple of hours quickly). They want you close at hand so they can intervene if needed.

My DD and I went through this when I was about 35 weeks. She arrived via EMCS, early and tiny but basically healthy. If I hadn't been in hospital and being closely monitored it could have gone very differently.

Same here! You need to stay put OP, honestly

This happened to my MIL and she managed to negotiate weekend visits home(!), but that was the 80’s like. A friend who delivered last year was in and out several times with PE but they seemed to manage to stabilise her with meds and so she was allowed home after a night or two each time. It probably is very much a case by case basis. It’s shit but I think all you can do is get some earplugs, a pillow or two from home and a laptop loaded with every series you’ve ever so much as expressed a vague inclination towards and keep your fingers crossed.
