How easily transmitted are diseases from sheep and lambs?

I know the advice is to stay away from pregnant sheep and new born lambs in case of transmission that can be dangerous when pregnant. We visited a friends house today who’s husband had just come in from lambing and I accidentally drank out of his cup instead of my own. I don’t know if he had washed his hands or not. How likely is it for bacteria to be transmitted that way? Also I’m reading that Q fever can be transmitted through the air from dust particles, would that include if he wore the clothes he wore when lambing indoors? Sorry if these are silly questions, we visit them quite often so just wanted to make sure I’m not putting myself at risk. I’m not at the stage to share that I’m pregnant with them just yet either which makes it a bit trickier. Thanks for any advice!

Zoonotic diseases are generally transferred by direct contact with the animal and /or their entry level to you is an open wound. I think your drinking from the cup of a farmer is most likely fine.
if he has been lambing it’s not likely that lambs or sheep will be ill anyway -and I’m sure he washed himself down a bit before coming back to the house or his wife would have murdered him (my mum was a farmers wife and her husband had to be clean before entering her kitchen!).
don’t worry OP x
