I currently have a 5 year old and 2.5 year old. I’m not pregnant but we are considering by the end of the year if it all goes to plan. Both children will then be nearly 7 and 3.5 years. I’m just curious as to other people’s experiences going from 2 to 3?

it can be overwhelming some days now which does make me 50/50 but I know the Children will be older when the baby would be born and I’m not getting any younger

Following as I am expecting a third in August! My daughters will be 5.5 and 3.5 at that time, which I think (hope!) will be a more easeful age gap.

I struggled quite a lot after my 2nd but I remember a friend at the time who had 3 saying the jump from 1 to 2 was huge but after that it was a lot easier… this has been backed up by lots of people I’ve met since with 3 and 4 kids

I had my third when my two were 8 and 5.5. It was ok as they were quite young but self sufficient. They’re now 13 (just turned), 10.5 and soon to be 5. I enjoy it but it is quite hectic as my eldest plays a couple of sports competitively and spends around 16 hours a week training which involves a lot of ferrying around. Second is similar but with less training time. Youngest is due to start swimming after turning 5.
The washing especially sports wear is unbelievable. We wash every second day and the homework, school notes etc.
Having said that, I absolutely enjoy it. I plan ahead as I work full time on site but we make it work. I currently have one in first year secondary, second last year primary and first year primary. We deliberately had that gap as we knew we wanted a third but not so soon after second (house move, job changes). Also had first two in our mid 20s and third in our early 30s. Best of luck with your decision.
