Has anyone had to have an ecv with success story? And how was it?

How many weeks are you?
I wouldn’t suggest an ECV from my experience (doula).

Have you tried Spinning Babies, particularly the forward leaning inversions?

Are you sedentary? Office job?

I’m 34 weeks but thats what the hospital have suggested depending on my 36 week scan

I was pressurised to have one by the consultant, everyone else (nurses, midwives, sonographer) told me not to do it. The baby can just move back. 🤷‍♀️
You need to be monitored after.

YouTube it.

Do you really want a vaginal birth? If I was hell bent I may have, but I’m not a huge fan of pain! and this procedure is not pain free.

As a counterpoint to the 2 previous responses, I had one successfully with DD2. It was briefly quite painful and then the baby turned and it was all over. The baby didn’t move back and I went on to have a straight forward home water birth and all was fine.

Absolutely too early.
ECVs carry risk.
Leave well alone - you need to try everything else, and you could easily have another 6 weeks left!!!

So the consultant has said because I have gestational diabetes and because his belly is a bit in the larger side and there’s a bit more water around him than normal there going to scan me at 36 weeks and go from there really he did explain the baby could move back to being breech or they may not be able to turn him or I could have a c section

I had an ECV at 38 weeks - unsuccessful and ended up having a c-section. It was painful but brief - I reckon worth a try - I think according to the guidelines that the success rate is roughly 50% but certain factors may mean that chance of success is higher than that.
