I’m 6 + 3 today and literally nothing is filling me up - or tried the healthy options and I end up wanting to eat within 20mins to a hour then the unhealthy I’m worried about gaining too much I’ve put on 6pounds already🤣 does anyone have any suggestions on snacks or meals that kept them full up?

Pregnant women increase their blood volume by over 50% in the first trimester. No wonder you're hungry. Prioritise high iron foods and lots of water

Trouble is, the weight doesn't come off miraculously the other side. Every lb is a slog to get back off again. You may be thirsty instead of hungry so always try a drink first - and stick with protein rich foods rather than carb dense ones. Nuts, cubes of cheese, olives, slice of seeded bread with peanut butter on, apple slices with peanut butter on.

You need more protein. I was constantly starving until I got Gestational Diabetes and cut out sugar, reduced carbs and upped my protein. Constart hunger gone. Nausea gone.

I was the same in first trimester, felt awful and starving constantly and the only thing that helped was toast and other beige carbs! I tried to eat healthy meals though but otherwise gave into it.

I'm now 39 weeks, haven't weighed myself since the start of pregnancy, but after 1st trimester nausea subsided my appetite has gone back to normal levels and recently I've really not felt that hungry at all so it's been a lot easier to make decent food choices (although I've had a real sweet tooth and just decided ro treat myself). I'm sure later when I'm trying to lose a few pounds I might wish I'd eaten more carrot sticks over cake, but pregnancy is hard and I reckon do what you need to do (within reason!)

Spread the food out across the day rather than meals. Eat hourly if you need to. So like breakfast, start with some cereal but have fruit an hour later, have lunch across 3 hours etc. You can eat a similar amount of calories without feeling hungry constantly :)

It depends on your body type, eating habits etc. I eat healthily and have always been the low end of healthy BMI. But in pregnancy I put on over 50% of my body weight both times (both times started at 50kg and ended over 75kg). Both times I lost basically all of it within a year postpartum without trying. (Mostly by sweating profusely! Postpartum sweating is the worst).

Having babies and small children is exhausting, you burn calories just carrying them everywhere. I havent been to a gym since I had kids - no need, just carrying my enormous baby up and down the stairs is enough weightlifting
