Hi all, I’m really struggling with losing my pregnancy weight from my second child. My first child I was 57kg when I got pregnant which dropped to 50kg during breastfeeding - the weight fell off so easily. My second pregnancy I started at 62kg as had a miscarriage prior to it and didn’t lose the weight from that. I hoped I would lose weight breastfeeding but I didn’t and now, two years on, I am still stuck at around 66kg, which is a lot for me as I am 157cm. I have had thyroid checked. I’m still not sleeping well, haven’t in six years now due to kids waking, bed sharing etc so no energy for any intense exercise but can mange walks some days. I probably need to work on losing weight through food as that’s easier to manage than exercise. I’ve given up sugar for around a month now but thats not having a significant impact. Anyone else been here, where your weight just seemed stuck, and any tips/foods/meals to try to get out of it.

Yes, focus on diet. 80% of weight is managed by diet alone with the remainder by lifestyle (exercise, sleep, stress etc.). I managed to lose weight following Zoe way of eating way (UK Kings College research) and it’s been stable over a year now. Essentially, for me, it was cut all UPFs and white carbs, red meet. Front load all food, last meal light at 7pm, no snacks (western invention) if anything just nuts. Full proof for me - got flat tummy and waist again and 45 next week:) Good luck!

Im 10 weeks PP, i come to a stand still and started to gain by 6 weeks.
I started slimming world on my own. No groups or consultant because everything on google😂

I stuck to 15 syns or less a day. So i'll have a skinny whip with a muller light yogurt, i havent eaten any salad or fruit since i started😅 its been 3 weeks and im half a stone lighter. Im not exercising just eating what would be free food or syn controlled (again you can find syns for most things on google)
Pasta im still having, meat with no fat, veg, rice. Iceland do really good portion slimming world meals. Online theyre 5 for £20.
I dpnt agree with a lot of it like weighing out cheese.
Im not a hyge cheese eater so its ok for me to have a light dusting of cheese.
I have semi skimmed milk, mixing between sugar and sweetener in my coffee lol.
I have diet pops. But only 1 can a day, my 1 bad meal is usually on a friday evening or saturday evening with a couple of glasses of wine.

Its so much easier getting the SW meals while my baby is still so young and my OH has to work until late.
It makes sense and the weight is now coming off!

I had a horrifically stressful pregnancy and lost nearly 7kg by the time my waters went at 33 weeks. A week after birth, I looked very skinny, no meat on any of my limbs and my stomach was almost flat despite the section scar. However, I very quickly began to pile weight on. I was pumping milk all day and all night and being advised to eat a lot, snack as much as I could, full fat everything, etc. because my tiny premature baby needed as much fat content in his milk as humanly possible. I’d also had a cat 1 emergency section under general anaesthetic, so wasn’t very mobile for a long time.

I’m 6 months PP now and the heaviest I’ve ever been, but that’s because my appetite is huge compared to normal, which I can only assume is to do with breastfeeding. I’ve tracked my calories and I’m only eating around 180-200 calories a day extra, so well within the recommendations, but I just seem to be storing fat.

I’ve previously been through some body conditioning at the gym for my back pain, where I lost most of my body fat and replaced it with lean muscle; I also used to be incredibly thin from a previous job on my feet all day. So I know I can lose weight with the right changes. For me, it requires replacing the crap I want to eat with good quality, protein heavy diet. The more protein you eat, the fuller you feel. Replace whatever you can with the less calorific options, eat plenty of iron rich and protein rich foods. To lose weight, you essentially need to burn more calories than you consume, so that either means cutting down calories or moving a lot more. Find out your maintenance and go from there. My usual maintenance was 1400-1600 calories per day (I’m not usually a big eater and have been petite all my life). My maintenance now is 1650 - 1850 calories. So, to lose any weight, for me it’s about making sure I get those calories from whole foods and not junk as I’ll be hungrier, and about moving my body a lot more.
