Question cannula during induction

I just wondered if you opt to have an induction with vaginal prostaglandins in the UK do you have to a cannula and what medications would they put through it? Can they administer pitocon through it to stimulate contractions if they feel you are not progressing quickly enough? I was induced last time and didn't have a birth plan and didn't have a lot of information beforehand. It was a very horrible experience so want a bit more information and control this time.

I did, but they put it in because they knew they would be blasting me with anti bleeding drugs as soon as the baby was born due to a large PPH last time. Otherwise they wouldn't have done. But typically, if they think they may want IV access for any reason they'll do it in advance.

I did have one. But that’s because I was induced at 37 weeks after my waters went at 34, so I had some IV antibiotics during it.
I didn’t need the drip induction in the end, as the internal gel worked, but they’d have used the cannula for that as well.

I had it done before induction as I have bad access, was having twins and had a traumatic first birth. It seemed the most sensible way (it was used).
As an ex hcp I'd say its easier to get a canula insitu when its not an urgent/emergency situation.

IV put in for syntocinin (or whatever it's called!) but no cannula or anything before that, I was just left to labour tbh. Once IV in I was restricted to basically how long the tubing was around the bed as also needed fetal monitoring but it was all fine and they were ready with pain relief as it can increase pain quickly (but v manageable with diamorphine only, I was fine and birth was uncomplicated).

No cannula when I had the pessary in, it was put in later on in the week when there were a few issues with the heart rate and a need to rush me to labour ward, had antibiotics for Group B strep so that was the main reason

Two inductions at 37 weeks.

I was an inpatient prior to them both starting so they had the chance to cannulate me at any point during the process.

First time I was cannulated late at night as they knew I would be asked to go to delivery suite in the early hours of the morning.

Second time around it was far busier, so there were no guarantees I would be going to delivery suite at any point. I was cannulated once I reached the delivery suite just after ARM.

I think the attitude is better to have one and not need it if there's any known risk factors to needing the drip/surgery. Otherwise only put one in if it's needed.

I was induced at 37 weeks. I wasn't cannulated until baby went into distress and they lost his heartbeat. They were also worried about bleeding for me as I had low platelets and wouldn't have been able to have an epidural. They got his heartbeat back and I have birth about 20 minutes later. He had his cord wrapped around his neck which was why his heartbeat was dropping during delivery.
They removed the cannula soon after I got on to the ward as long as I agreed for them to put another one in if needed.
