37 wks pregnant and baby missing the occasional heartbeat - any similar experiences?

My sister in law is almost 37 wks pregnant with first child. In her last check, the midwife picked up the occasional missing heartbeat in the baby - think it's called arrythmia. A trace at the local hospital has just confirmed this. I've just googled this and found that it's actually quite common and that the problem usually resolves itself. However the hospital are doing another trace and she's seeing a cardiologist nxt week so they're obviously taking it seriously. She also has low levels of amniotic fluid which I'm not sure is connected, but I thought I'd put the feelers out on that one too. Any advice/ similar experiences? Sister in law is obviously distressed.

no experience of this condition. However, from mine and others experience once you are 37 weeks they consider you medically to be full term so if there is any worry at all they will whip her in and induce her or possibly do a ceaserian. The fact that they haven't suggest to me that they are not too concerned at this stage. The option is there if she needs it though so I am sure everything will be fine, just make sure they keep a close eye on her and the baby.

Kind of what I thought. When I googled it I found that arrythmia happens in 14% of pregnancies, but it's just really weird that nobody I know has ever had this experience in pregnancy, or knows of anyone either.

Not hugely similar but with DD1 had a failed induction, they were not happy with her heartbeat and decided to do a section and not continue inducing as to much stress on her heart.

Was everything okay in the end?

Absolutely fine, in her case I think they said that there was not enough variation in her heartbeat to cope with the stress of pushing, she is an extremely healthy 2.5 year old.

I was induced and they were quite concerned about my dd's heartbeat too. It was very slow apparently. Probably because she was knackered. Still it was really frightening at the time. Anything to do with hearts frightens me tbh. I just want to give my sis in law some positive stories...

Also my SIL had low amniotic fluid and had an elective section. I think what she really needs to do is go armed with questions.
