Carrying a breech baby, what does it feel like for you?

Where do you feel hiccups the most?

Can you tell which bits are which of the baby?

Does your baby move into transverse at all, and how can you tell?

Does it go head down and swing back around? How can you tell?

Where are your strongest movements?

Do you get lots of rib pain (rib flare pain)?

Anything else of interest?

I could feel my ds's head. If I poked with two hands back and forth, I could feel it bobbing around.

He turned head down around week 32 and the kicks were like ripples under my rib cage rather than thuds.

Then he turned back to breech the following week and there was absolutley no mistaking that he was turning. However, I have a heart shaped uterus, so he may have been having a particularly difficult time turning round.

Then he tried to turn round head down again, but by feeling his head, I could tell 100% that he hadn't managed to turn.

Ultrasounds towards my due date showed that he was indeed breech with one foot up by his ear and the other tucked underneath. Because of this, the kicks were all over the place!

No rib pain, but just a big uncomfortable lump right under the ribs, and he didn't engage, so there was no relief right up until I had my cs.

How many weeks are you?

Oh sorry, hiccups were down low I think

ds2 (breech) felt no different to carrying ds1 (head down) - which is why the mws never double-checked and he ended up being an undiagnosed breech and em c-s

demand an extra scan if you are at all unsure...

terrible pain in the ribs, mw said they were "probably bruised", I think DD was lodged under there.
My DD remained breech the whole time BUT several MW's at the hospital insisted she had turned, but I knew she hadn't.

A friend of mine just had her third baby, second was breech and the third was too, she was panicking as she did not want a section but she had peritinitis (sp) and the hospital wouldn't induce a breechie. We were walking one afternoon to a meeting and BOY you could tell the baby had turned - friend said she felt a terrible sensation, and a scan the following day showed the baby had turned.

oh, I had an anterior placenta as well so hardly felt any movements

I am 33+5 now, and half of me wants it to stay breech as dont feel like I could face going to 41+ again!

My ribs hurt so much, as it feels like every few days I fill up with water, and its awful. Then it goes again. I carried alot of water in last pregnancy.

Not seeing midwife until 36 weeks, then will be refered back to consultant, as I was going for a vbac. There is no way I would go for a breech birth at my local, as it would be too hands on, esp with a vbac plus breech and not enough skill.

Oh plus I have a virus that makes me cough all the time, which is making the rib thing alot worse..oh and an ill (same virus) 15 month old..oh and of course dh has man flu (same virus)

I am sure you are fed of hearing this Divvy, but there is still plenty time for baby to turn

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate with everyone being ill though. i hope you all recover soon

Good luck

My friends baby (the one I mentioned in my first post) turned at 36 weeks I think, as it was her last week before leaving & she was having a scan the following week to decide on an induction (if baby had turned) or section (if hadn't) as the hspital wouldn't let her go past 37 weeks.

My last baby was breech. It didn't feel any different, although I could feel her very hard head, and trace the sutures. She didn't turn.
