Has anyone seen any shops that have maternity clothes in store? Not a fan of online shopping. H and m was who I was relying on but they have stopped stocking in all stores everywhere now :(

Nope 😭 and I live in Manchester, so I really thought I wouldn't have a problem with this! I've been really disappointed to find it's all online.

H and m online have been decent, but it annoys me that I couldn't see that their leggings are suitable for under dresses, but not for wearing with a jumper! (See through)

Wouldn't order from lovall as they charge a returns fee and were shocking quality for the expensive price!

Any other insights gratefully received...

I appreciate it’s not quite the same but I used to order a click and collect, take it into the dressing rooms to try on, and then go straight to return. If you time it right and put it on a credit card then the refund has come through before it needs to be paid off.

It’s ridiculously tricky to find nice maternity wear in stores - a lot of the time I bought from the normal range and just sized up a bit. Would that be an option?

It’s so annoying they don’t have it in stores. I got some sized up dresses from matalan when I was pregnant last year, if you go for the right kind of styles then they don’t need to be maternity specific.

I think JoJo Maman bebe are the only ones that do, and they can be a bit hit and miss an to what’s in store and seem to be closing stores at a rapid rate too.

H&M were the only other walk in stores, it’s so annoying!

the click and collect idea is good, no faffing with returns. If you can find a brand or a range that see true to your size it makes online shopping easier going forward. Next and Seraphine were my favourites. Next now own Seraphine so so it’s all in one place and you can do the click and collect and try on option.

Vinted is your friend here. There is so little maternity clothing out there in shops.

This is an excellent idea!

Jersey and knitted dresses are your friends here!

I agree it’s frustrating though - I’m sure with my first 2 (now 10 and 7), I used to be able to buy things in store from Debenhams, H&M, possibly larger New Looks, but now you even struggle to find a range of maternity/nursing bras in M&S!

OrangefIuff · 18/01/2026 13:52

Asda George stocked maternity in store in 2024!

It drove me MAD that everywhere else was online only.

hahagogomomo · 18/01/2026 13:57

if you do a click and collect from Sainsbury’s you can try them on in the toilets and return anything that isn’t suitable, the staff suggested to me to order 2 sizes now our branch no longer stocks any clothes

I bought regular clothes in 1-2 sizes larger. Always looked nicer and fit bettern than maternity clothes. The only maternity things I bought was leggins from amazon. Jeans always slid down, no matter what brand. Shirts had a terrible fit and bad colours. And everything was insanely expensive. Then I gave up and went to Zara and HM and bought a few things in a larger size (like stretchy dresses and oversized blazers and shirts). Looked cute and no need to pay extra money.

I prefer to shop in store too and was disappointed with the lack of maternity clothes. So far I have liked New Look maternity clothes and they have a good sale on at the moment, got myself some nice tops and a few dresses for £40!
