Could I still be pregnant after thinking I’d had a chemical pregnancy

So I had a few positive pregnancy tests around 10th December. The lines were faint but clearly positive. By the 13th I had slight cramping and on and off light blood. Later into the evening I then had very dark red bleeding and clots. I assumed I’d had a chemical pregnancy as the heavy bleeding lasted 2 days and then was light for 3 more days. One week after this stopped I tested and got a negative test.

we had been trying to conceive for 4months prior to this so decided to continue. We have had unprotected intercourse a few times since and the last week or so I’ve been vommiting or felt nauseous. I decided to take a test today which was a very clear ( not faint) positive test. Is it possible that I am still pregnant and didn’t have a chemical pregnancy? I am still due on by 14th of Jan so the fact that it’s showing on a test makes me wonder. I’m 35 years old if that makes any difference. Have one DC who is 4 years old

I don't really know, but I think it's probably more likely you had that very early miscarriage (given the negative test) and then got pregnant again. Our bodies are apparently more fertile after miscarriages. It's hard to wait, but hopefully things will be more clear in a couple of weeks' time.

I really hope you are pregnant with a full term baby this time. Do let us know, if you want to. I'll say a prayer for you, @J300 .

More likely you're just unwell or conceived from a new cycle.

If you had been pregnant all this time the result would not be ambiguous.
