Baby movement worries

Hi everyone, our first post here, I’m writing this on behalf of my parter.

she is 25 weeks and 2 days. At just over 20 weeks she started feeling movements and flutters, never nothing strong enough for me to feel but she would feel the baby regularly, through the day and on a night. For close to a week now she hasn’t really felt the baby moving, it’s been very reduced and some days not at all or maybe once.

she saw the midwife at the GP who listened to heartbeat and said not to worry. A day or so later I advised she ring the maternity unit as was still same. They asked us to come in, checked baby’s heart rate which was slightly on the high end but said was fine and that at 25 weeks it’s all they do, they don’t do the other checks until 26 weeks.

I booked a private scan, we had this yesterday, she said baby’s measurements were all as expected, she observed heart beat etc and baby moving slightly in the scan and had no concerns. My partner still feeling no movement though. We called maternity again last night, went in again, same thing just heart rate check. This time they swabbed my partner to check for any infections though. We are awaiting this.
today is still the same, nothing really where as normally he would be fairly active.

im really concerned about this but ringing up they only check the heart rate and until another 4 days wouldn’t hook her up to the proper monitor or scan her until even later along the line. I’m just really worried and don’t know if there’s anything else we can do or different we should be saying. Another thing that worries me is that the baby has been facing the same way since the first scan
(facing away from the belly) . Can anyone relate or offer anything

thank you

Hey you partner may not be able to feel anything because of the placenta position.

If heart rate is being detected I’d try not to worry.

Congratulations on the pregnancy.

Hi
This may or may not be helpful but I dont remember feeling a lot of movement at this point. My placenta was anterior- eventually I started to feel stronger movement but before this I went for checks frequently just be to sure.

Where is the placenta? With my first, the placenta was at the front and I didn't feel movements as much as with my second.

At this stage the baby is so small, it can move to parts of the uterus where it can’t be felt. That’s why most midwives say to monitor patterns after 28 weeks. Has anyone said where the placenta is located?

Hey sorry for not adding this , her placenta is at the back (posteria) so is worrying us more

If u are worried, keep ringing and getting checked -
no one here can ultimately reassure you,
leave it to the experts -
always trust your judgement - if something doesn’t seem right - get it checked -
better safe than sorry
I bet at each check up they have said if u have any concerns get in touch !!!

@Jakeandshan Hi. I had this same worry and my midwife said not to worry at that stage because you can’t always feel baby move and they haven’t got their routine yet. I’m now 28 weeks and feel her move more regularly.

The heartbeat is the important thing. Movement varies so much on the baby, the position, the mother…If you’ve got a good heartbeat then try not to worry.
