39 weeks pregnant and just waiting to go in to labour now! Interested to know how similar everyone’s labour/birth’s were for those who have had multiple children? Or the lead up to the births.
Most of my friends have had similar birth story’s for there kids. For example best friend has only ever been about to get to around 6/7 cm and both then ended in C section with long labour of days before.

With my first I lost my plug on Sunday morning, on and off contractions throughout Sunday. Stayed in bed for most of the day & slept Sunday night then Monday still irregular contractions till afternoon, 6pm waters went with baby arriving by 11pm!

Just waiting for any sign now and wondering if it’ll be a similar journey as my first!

Stories of Labour & birthing to pass my time 🥰

Very long first and second stage with my first, short first stage and very short second stage with my second.

First was 5 days early. First sign was my waters breaking. Started to feel contractions about 22hrs later, refused induction at the 24hr point (2.30am) and labour was recorded as 4.5hrs (born 7.30am) tens, gas and air, water birth. I had a postpartum haemorrhage but no tears.

2nd was 9 days late. Started feeling contractions about 6pm, baby was born at 7.20am the following day. Labour recorded as 56mins. Tens, gas and air, water birth, no tears, no postpartum haemorrhage. My waters didn't go until the final few pushes (got to feel baby's head coming out with the membranes still intact).

Feel very lucky to have had two positive experiences.

To be honest birth is very unpredictable., so much can influence the birth, eg. position, if there is meconium, premature rupture of membranes, need to be induced for GD etc. Even if you have a very easy first birth the second could go differently imo.

i had an epidural with my 1st and looking back it was lovely and so calm. Baby came around 23 hours after waters breaking. My second , came around 8 hours after waters breaking, but I had no pain relief ( not out of choice! Things just happened so quickly ) and ended up giving birth on the floor! X
