Should I stop testing?

I got my bfp with a clear blue on Sunday at 11dpo. It was faint but a clear positive. I have tested a number of times since then. On Tuesday afternoon, I used a boots cheapie and got a very faint line. Wasn’t reassured. Wednesday early morning I got a clear positive - see test 1 in pic below. Slightly reassured. Wednesday day I tested again but line was very faint again - appreciate I had only held my pee for 1 hour and probably quite hydrated! Thursday morning I tested first thing - see test 2 in pic below. Was reassured. I haven’t tested again. I was going to test tomorrow morning first thing to check for progression as i don’t feel like there is much between 2 tests below. I will be 17dpo (3 days after missed period). I am in two minds though. I want to check progression and feel reassured but where does it end? This doesn’t seem healthy to keep testing/. Any helpful thoughts?

It sounds like the extra testing is making you more worried, not less. I would certainly ignore any tests that weren't first thing in the day. If I were you I'd try to do things that make you feel calmer - mindfulness, walking, whatever works for you. The testing isn't going to change the outcome or really tell you much about how your pregnancy is going. I know it can be a difficult wait though!

@Underthemoon1 really difficult to wait! But thanks very much! I appreciate your comment!

If you really want to compare tests (I understand the need having had an ectopic and a mmc and have been ttc 4+ years) at the very least you need consistency in type of test, and in the time of pee (fmu). Comparing two different brands of tests is truly meaningless as they have different thresholds. You also can’t compare day to day. You can test daily, but if you’re looking to see the line get darker, it will only be noticeable every two days (so always compare it to two days ago test) I got all worried about my test not getting dark enough (and indeed got lighter one day) only to find out by blood test my hcg was nearly tripling in 48hrs. As long as the overall trend is darkening, then the pregnancy as far as you know is continuing.

I think the poster above was right to say that maybe the testing is giving you more anxiety rather than alleviating it? I honestly understand the need though. If your anxiety about it is really bad, maybe get a 48 hour blood test. Once I saw my numbers increase so significantly I felt a bit freer!

good luck op

Hah sorry I spilled out my instructions to you, didn’t realise I wrote an essay!

If you check my previous posts, you’ll see my obsession with line progression. Twice it ended in chemical. The third time my 12 week old is now asleep on my husband’s chest. I was convinced by the lack of progression that I knew the outcome. Step away from the tests - protect yourself x

Thank you @aLogLady and @LovingMamaWifeTeacher! I really appreciate your comments. I think it is time to step away from the testing - having also had a previous loss, it’s really difficult to think rationally and positive when TTC and during early pregnancy! Thank you ❤️
