How do you know what’s available at your birth centre?

Maybe a silly question but it seems like there’s no info online about what’s at my birth centre (Addenbrookes Rosie). Are you supposed to just turn up and wing it?

I’d assumed there’d be detail on what the rooms are like, what happens when you arrive, what equipment is there (I’m keen to know if peanut ball is available or if I need my own), or even just which medical staff will be with you? There’s a labour and birth page on the website but it just talks about induction and when to call them when your labour starts. I’ve read all this advice on getting into the zone in early labour and I can’t imagine being able to keep that calm mindset going into an environment where I have no idea what’s waiting for me?

Will the community midwives know this kind of detail? Can I assume someone will tell me at some point or do I need to start asking?

When I got into the third trimester, our hospital would invite you to come along for a tour and explain what each room had and the pain options available. Then you could go away and think about your birth preferences ready to be discussed at the 36w appointment. Maybe ask your midwife if its a similar process?

Ah thanks @DeliciouslyBaked! I will ask this. A tour would be ideal. I am just so naive about everything!
