Gestational Diabetes - Large AC but Dr wouldn't refer so I have tested myself help...

Hi all, looking for some advice regarding GD. Its long so bare with me...

I am 37 weeks. At my 32 week scan, baby had a AC on 94th percentile, consultant at the time said I should have a blood test to check glucose levels, I went off to triage and midwife said no you are too early for a blood test, you need OGTT and they would book it. Diabetes team decided her AC was not enough to warrant the test so it was declined.

36 week scan, AC is now 96th percentile, sonographer refers me herself for a blood test but again diabetes team say no I dont need the blood test.

So I decided to buy a at home monitor to check my levels as for me, a large AC is out of the ordinary (4th baby, largest baby was 7lb 6oz, I do not make big babies) and just for peace of mind to rule it out.

So far my fasting levels have been ok. However my after lunch levels at 1 hour and 2 hours have been high. 8.0, 7.9 etc...
Would this be an indication I do have GD? As my fasting levels are ok?

Thanks!

Gestational diabetes was diagnosed at my trust with 2 high readings out of 12 (taking a reading 4 times a day over 3 days). It's very strange your team didn't want to test you for it! Id go and tell them straight away and get them to confirm

One hour readings should be 7.8 or below so Id say it’s an indicator of something (whether that’s GD or just not tolerating food). Very bizarre that they aren’t referring you though.

all I can suggest if they are completely not budging on the referral would be to follow a gestational diabetes diet and somewhat manage it yourself?
