Pink-brown discharge 6 weeks (TMI - pictures in post)

Hi everyone, hoping for some advice please. I am 6 weeks 1 day pregnant based on my LMP, and yesterday afternoon I noticed some pinky-brownish CM upon checking my cervix. It wasn’t present when I wiped or in my underwear, only when I checked my cervix. Some was also the usual white/creamy colour and there was one small streak of blood I noticed the last time I did the check, but I think that may have been due to irritation. I have had some cramping on and off since finding out I was pregnant, but nothing severe at all - just twinges here and there.

I have checked again this morning and my CM has gone back to its usual white/creamy colour. My cervix feels high and closed.

Has anyone else had this type of tinged discharge at 6 weeks and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? My partner and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years so I am absolutely terrified of this not being a viable pregnancy.

I have my first scan booked for 7 weeks 5 days, and I am worried of having one sooner, unless it’s an absolute emergency, in case nothing can be seen (even though that can be normal if it’s too early, I know I would panic and think the worst).

Just looking for some guidance/reassurance. Thank you

I had it all three times with my successful pregnancies, ranging from traces of discharge to full blown bleeding, as one off and as repeating, and between weeks 5 up to week 13. All three healthy babies.

I did not have it at all with my missed miscarriage, that I had to get surgically removed...

What I want to say: pregnancies are super weird, this could mean start of a miscarriage for you or it could mean nothing, there is no way for you to know but to hope for the best and let the time pass. Nothing you can do, nothing anyone can do, so it would be best you breathe and hope for the best.

Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It’s hard to get an idea online as pregnancy is so varied for everyone! Often times, only the negative stories are at the forefront which makes it even harder not to worry and think the worst.

I’m feeling hopeful as signs of the tinged mucus appear to have gone this morning. I also don’t know if it would have ever made its way onto my underwear/when wiping so if I hadn’t checked my cervix, I may never have known it was there. Did yours appear as spotting in underwear or when wiping, or from checking your cervix like me?

I actually phoned 111 yesterday just for some peace of mind, they were lovely but they said an on-call doctor would phone me back as it was out of hours for me to call my own GP. The on-call doctor was extremely insensitive and blunt in my opinion, he didn’t really ask anything about what the mucus/spotting looked like and just said to go to A&E - I must have been on the phone with him for less than a minute. I was devastated and rang my mum crying, but after speaking with her I said I’m just going to monitor and will ring my midwife if I notice anything out of the ordinary. I would rather follow their advice and I think they would handle the situation with much more empathy, even if they advise the same thing.

There is nothing 111, GP or a gyno can do right now. If it's passing, there is no stopping it. If it's not, there is no definitive way for them to tell. You need time to pass.

Hang tight, think good thoughts, and best of luck :)
