Not sure where to put this but here goes.

Im 32+2 on second baby (10+ years between pregnancies)

I’ve had a rubbish time this time with severe nausea and weight loss up to around 18 weeks
pelvic girdle pain from 25 weeks
I’m B12 deficient and iron deficient anaemic too
I also have rare antibodies which mean I need specific blood from a specific donor should I need a transfusion

Had scans at 12,20,28 and 32 so far which baby was small, small but catching up, 88th percentile and not sure about the 32 wk I think measuring big but sonography just said growth is in line and what they’d expect

Polyhydramnios was picked up at 32 week scan and so they now want me to repeat my gtt

I have had to push for a Vbac (first was premature emergency section due to fetal distress) but now with everything else I’m wondering if a section would be safer?

I have a consultant appt this week and I know they’ll push for the section again

My husband is very supportive but feels that a section may be better but he knows that this is my only chance to do it naturally.

I want to have a natural labour and birth because there wasn’t a medical reason not to and I want to experience it. Plus due to husbands work messing around we’ve had to cut his time off down drastically and so my help will be reduced which is worrying me for recovery time

obviously the thing that matters most is safe delivery for both of us, and if that’s a section then so be it, I’m just stuck in my head again

I guess until we speak with the consultant we won’t really know the ins and outs

I have most of the “symptoms” so I don’t know if that will change things atall

I guess I’d like to hear anyone’s stories good or bad about natural and section delivery with polyhydramnios

I had polyhydramnios in my last pregnancy although only mildly. I had a planned c-section due to having an emergency C-section with my first. it honestly was the calmest birth! I also don’t know if the polyhydramnios was a specific consideration during the procedure, I certainly didn’t notice anything!

I do understand what you say about recovery time. I had a rotten time with my first but with my second recovery has been much better. I’ve heard that lots about planned sections. My husband went back to work 2 weeks after and even though I had to be careful and I was a bit bored stuck inside, it’s been totally fine.

I had a vaginal delivery with polyhydramnious. It was a fast, but smooth sailing labour!

I also had mild Polyhydramnios and I also didn’t notice anything different during delivery. All they did was monitor the levels in additional scans like I’m assuming they do with you? I also was made to do a GTT as it can be a sign of GD, but not always

Had polyhydraminos with my youngest. Also had to do GTT to rule out GD as he was a lot bigger than my previous 2.
Ended up having him at 37 weeks cause it was the 3rd/4th episode of reduced movements and turned out I was already dilating. They wanted to pop my waters in theatre because of the risk of cord prolapse, instead they popped them (was actually like popping a water balloon there was that much and they were still leaking with every contraction) and put me on a hormone drip to speed up my contractions to get him down quicker which definitely worked and they had to turn it off after half an hour as I was nearly climbing the walls.
He was out in just under 90mins from waters being popped and they put a tube down his throat at birth to make sure he had no issues with swallowing as they thought that might be why I had excess waters.

I had polyhydramnios very severely in my first pregnancy which wasn't actually picked up on until they broke my waters and there was an actual tidal wave 😳 midwife said it was the most waters she'd seen in her 25 year career!! I had him naturally though with no complications and he was 9lbs 2oz! I have absolutely no idea how it was missed to be honest, I did have a very large bump but never measured more than 2 weeks ahead so it never got flagged up. Baby was absolutely fine though and the labour was smooth enough

I developed this in my 1st pregnancy. At 28 wks suddenly measuring 32wks. 30 wks measuring 36 weeks. 32 weeks +2 well.... my little boy decided to make his own entrance into the world weighing 3lb 12.5oz.

At 30 weeks I can remember feeling like I was wearing a pair of welly boots filled with water! 💦 sloshing around... it was a strange feeling.

I was due to see the consultant the day he was born.

I was told it could be a sign that the baby has a kidney issue causing excess fluid. Apart from dilated kidneys that he grew out of... there was no other issues.

I am O neg & luckily so are all my babies however, I was given the anti d injection while I was pregnant just in case.

Had this too. I think it was picked up around 30 weeks and I was induced at 39 weeks as they were worried the baby was going to be a giant.

Vaginal delivery, long labour but the only notable thing was when my waters were broken. They’d put down a few of those puppy training style pads. The waters just took them out like a tidal wave takes out a building in a disaster film.😆

Baby was 8lbs 3oz at 39+1, so not too big at all.
