Hey, I have had debilitating PGP since 25 weeks. This is my second pregnancy.

I had a failed sweep 3 days ago (having regular sweeps due to me wanting a VBAC and trying to avoid induction at 41 weeks due to scar tissue I need to have baby out by then) she couldn't reach my cervix but said she rummaged in the area. No show, no mucus discharge nothing.
Baby was 2/5 engaged, meaning she had 2/5 out, so almost fully engaged and super deep my midwife said.
Yesterday I cleaned my house, had sex and all sorts and last night she moved LOADS and felt like she was pushing real far down, had loads of painful stabbing in my cervix , more than usual.

Anywho, she moved loads all night, this morning I woke up with no.pelvic pressure and no pains apart from back pain. Quite bad back pain to be fair, I've had 3 baths all day that haven't settled the back pain.

However now I'm worrying she's popped back out or gone breach!! Although I am pretty sure she is still head down as I can feel her hiccups down in my pelvis like usual. I'm just really confused!!!

Has anyone ever gone through this??? I'd love to labour naturally and really hoping she's not disengaged herself. Got another sweep in 2 days and another in 4 days, however my consultant said they will induce me next week if I wanted to instead of the sweeps. I'm just trying to avoid induction as it will have to be via balloon method and may likely fail which I don't want to happen.

Hey not your exact situation but I carried my 2nd baby down very low, almost felt he was engaged in my pelvis for the whole preg from early on. The evening my waters broke 40+3 I went in to get checked and they said oh baby very high up and in an awkward position, delivery is a long way off yet!! Told me come back in 24h for induction. I was fuming lol having spent months feeling like he was about to fall out. I went home and did Rebozo method (on midwives advice she told me to watch a youtube video) and contractions started 5hrs after waters and he was born within 2hrs... all this a long story to say sometimes they can pop back up high right before D day but they will come back down!!

Edit to add lots of people told me 2nd babies engage and disengage themselves a lot more frequently than first, don't know if it's accurate.

Yes it's very disheartening but hang in there! My guy disengaged and re-engaged within hrs of delivery and still went on to have a lovely smooth (fast) labour. I just remembered as well as Rebozo I also slept in a position the midwife advised and I think that also helped re engage him and get things going. Maybe ask at your next sweep if they advise anything like that, I think there are some contraindications so has to be used cautiously. Hopefully your back pain is the start of something getting ready. Best of luck.

I've been having false labour symptoms since 37 weeks, period pains, pink discharge, cramps etc... cervix was closed after they checked me at triage after my pinky discharge at 38 weeks. Then at my sweep cervix was too high for them to feel. Just feel as though my body is doing nothing. I've tried walking , sex, pineapple, circles on my ball, miles circuit, curries, evening primrose oil... Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on myself. Baby will come out soon I suppose😂xx
