Hello all,

just looking for either anyone who’s been in the same position or just overall advice

we have been trying for a baby for 1 year now and only had one cycle become pregnant which ended after 1 week. After 4 months of trying

I’ve tried taking supplements such as b6 ect and made no change. OPKS have been positive but around day 18 so believe short leutal phase ( I have 28 day cycles) I have been doing my bbt aswell which supports theses dates

they’ve also found a cyst on one ovary been scanned twice and only 3cm and there happy to leave it and just monitor

just feeling frustrated doctors won’t even consider until a year after miscarriage but just say well you got pregnant

sorry for the rant just starting to feel super deflated

Hi, you may get more responses if you post this in conception.

I’m sorry you’re going through this I know it’s so difficult and frustrating.

Have you had a day 21 progesterone test? I’ve had times of a short luteal phase after a miscarriage which I was sure was due to hormone imbalance but did eventually get pregnant after this. There’s no way to know if the short LP was getting in the way but I always felt it was.

I’ve also had issues with early spotting from around 7dpo and again I was sure this was progesterone related. I managed to get progesterone suppositories and got pregnant the first month of using them. Obviously there’s no way to say for certain that they helped.

if you haven’t yet been to GP it’s definitely worth making an appointment, I think they will refer you after a year and given there’s probably a long wait it may be good to get on the waiting list just in case.

I hope everything works out for you ❤️

Hi thanks yeah maybe will but don’t know how to change it

they did only one day 21 blood test and it come back low like I hadn’t ovulated

Im certain it’s short leutal phase and progesterone related and I think that’s what caused the loss

my issue is I got pregnant and so fast is all they say. Going to try go back to them but most likely to be told to wait till March lots of doctors don’t believe in short leutal phase or that prostegon helps so left me stuck

i just feel like I’ve got a odd set of circumstances that most people don’t share about

were thinking maybe going private but it’s not knowing the full expense

Yes I definitely felt that I was wasting my time trying to get the GP to do anything about my short LP.

You can generally get a private fertility MOT type package for a few hundred so not too expensive and you may be able to get progesterone prescribed privately off the back of that.

obviously if you’re not ovulating the progesterone won’t help but the mot would usually include an ultrasound to check everything looks ok and they can usually see if you’ve ovulated.

Yes it’s such a taboo they day as long as your ovulating but most cycles it’s only giving the egg like 8 days to get there. Makes it hard to follow/relate to others as like 8/9dpo is also like due date of period

ive got an appointment on 3rd nov but sure they’ll tell me to go away until March when its a year since the loss even though it’s a year of trying

I’ve been doing the lh tests which do surge and my bbt rises after then so showing good signs and we did get pregnant the icons but not for long. My hcg was only 7 but I was bleeding for 4 days before they’d see me as I wasn’t 6 weeks

was looking at a consultation at private hospital with someone who looks into it instead of a fertility clinic it’s confusing to know what to decide to do and where to go

If you don’t mind me asking have you had much luck/ success with short leutal phase ?
