Hello, currently 17weeks with 2nd baby and have an anterior placenta this time. Felt my first at 15 weeks and felt them every day after that with posterior placenta. This time i have felt the occasional thing but some days maybe nothing. Is this normal at this stage? It could also be i am so busy running around with my toddler than i dont notice the small movement

I’m currently 21 weeks with an anterior placenta and I can only feel movements down low and mainly in the morning while at still laying in bed. Not feeling anything while I’m up and moving around. FTM so I don’t have anything to compare this to.

I had two with an anterior placenta and I didn't realise how much the feeling of movement was reduced until I had a third with a posterior placenta and in comparison it's like having a washing machine on spin in your insides.

Anterior placenta reduces the feeling of movement a lot.

I had an anterior placenta both times. My first pregnancy, I didn’t feel DS move until 24 weeks.

In my second pregnancy, it was around 20-21 weeks that I started to feel flutters.

I’ve had an anterior placenta both times.

First time I didn’t feel anything until about 22 weeks (I remember watching her move about at the 20 week scan and could feel nothing).

This time, I’m just starting to feel occasional flutters at 18 weeks, but definitely not consistently.

Seems its fairly normal then! If i do feel baby its on the side so i guess if they manage to kick around the placenta when most of their kicks are probably into the placenta. Atleast i may get more sleep this time, less kicking to wake me up at 2am haha

I had a posterior placenta with DS1 and an anterior one with DS2. I felt the movements with DS2 around 19 weeks which was a bit later than with DS1. They were fairly low down and infrequent at first but I soon felt consistent movement / kicks and didn’t then notice any difference. I was worried I wouldn’t feel as much, but that wasn’t the case for me! In fact I have videos where you can see limbs / a bum sticking out!!!

Thats promising that i may still see limbs and what not wriggling about towards end of pregnancy then! One of my fave things was seeing little ones legs and feet wriggling about last pregnancy

I'm 18 weeks with anterior placenta. FTM. Midwife told me it'll probably not be until 25 weeks, maybe 20 weeks if I'm lucky before I feel movement. I want to feel movement, I'm so impatient!

33 weeks here with an anterior placenta. I felt tiny, almost not there movements from about 19 weeks but nothing solid until 24 weeks. Now baby is head down and facing inwards so their movements are tricky to spot sometimes again!

I'm 23 weeks with a low anterior placenta. I get a swimming/bubbling sensation low down in the evenings when I'm sitting down in the evening. . Doesnt happen every day though and only started about a week ago. I had one evening when I had a couple of big kicks but that was obviously an exception to the rule. Think it depends on baby's position.

I'm on 5th pregnancy (4th after 12 weeks) and 3 of 4 have been anterior placenta. This pregnancy is the one IV felt most movements with even though the placenta is anterior. I always put off going to get checked because of the placement of placenta. They said it shouldn't make a difference. That said I didn't actually feel anything till after 24 weeks with this one they don't expect a pattern till 28-30 weeks. IV had loads of monitorings so far this pregnancy just cause I know he moves alot so the quiet days worry me more. I had over 20 monitorings with my first.
