What unit do GPs measure progesterone in?

I had my progesterone done at just over 5 weeks pregnant and it was 19.2 - my IVF clinic hasn’t given me any info. I don’t know which unit it was in but I read if it’s mlol then it’s way too low. Does anyone have any advice? x

Just looked up an old GP progesterone test I had done and that was in nmol/L but google tells me it can also be done in ng/ml - don't know what either means!

Thank you so much for your reply. If it’s mlol then it’s definitely too low but if not then could be ok. Feel terrified snd so angry that I gave this figure to my clinic yesterday and heard nothing back. I even called the emergency number and no answer :( - I wanted to ask them if there was any way I could urgently up my progesterone meds. I just feel shell shocked x

That's really shit you can't get hold of them. They should be willing to test ir, I have heard clinics can be quite variable with this though - mine wanted to test progesterone constantly and whacked me on high dose meds, but I've heard of plenty of other places that don't test and don't seem too bothered.

Hope you manage to get hold of them soon, only other thing I can think of is trying a private clinic to test and prescribe some progesterone for you if needed.

Thanks so much for all your help ❤️ I’m already on 400 cyclogest x 3 daily which is why it’s so worrying. I’m going to wait and then call them back again and have also left a message with the EPU xx

Got through to my clinic and bizarrely they said they don’t measure progesterone at all in early pregnancy and it isn’t a concern as long as hcg levels are fine, and apparently progesterone measuring beyond point of transfer is more “old school” - I find it all very hard to believe but I have to for my own sanity! x

Interesting! I guess measuring hcg and going with that makes sense, I didn't have that at my clinic. Hope you're feeling a bit reassured and everything progresses well xx

@Orangewillow I got a scan today at my EPU and everything was ok! They even saw a heartbeat ❤️ I’m 6w1d today they said. Thank you so much for all your kind reassurance x
