Having a baby in your 40s

Has anyone had a baby in their 40s?

I’m 41 and I’m really starting to get broody and wondered if it’s too late? I have a regular menstrual cycle and am fit and healthy, maybe a little overweight but that’s it.

Just wondering if it is still possible 🙏🏻

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's possible (I did). But its harder, and stressful trying to conceive worrying if every egg is your last! Good luck OP.

Yes, via private donor at 42. Pregnancy took it out of me though this time around. All is well though, baby is 6m and all is well.

I had my first at 38 and my second at 41. No problems.

I had two in my 40s. I was 39 when DS was conceived and 40 when he was born. Two years later, when I was 42, found out we were going to be parents for a second time Smile DD was born a few weeks shy of my 43rd birthday.

I had DS at 37 after three early miscarriages. I’m 40 now and almost 20 weeks pregnant after another early miscarriage. I’ll still be 40 when I give birth.

I found the first trimester fatigue worse this time around, but other than that I feel perfectly well and not ‘too old’.

It's not too late, but I suggest you get your egg reserve checked. This will be more helpful than generic statistics. If it's on the low side, you might consider IVF.

It depends on the individual; I personally had no success with 7 IVF rounds starting at age 40, but obviously some people have children naturally in their 40s!
