I'm 14 weeks pg and since yesterday have had a pain in my foot, sort of in my heel/base of my heel and in my lower buttock/top of my thigh. Just in one leg. Does anyone know what this is? or if it is even pg-related (in fact shall post in health too in case not!)? Thanks all!

Probably sciatica due to sacro-iliac joint. [bitter experience]
Ask for a referal to the obs-physio who should be able to help. During pg, your ligaments and tendons are more easily upset. Tis very very common and very horrible. Try to sit straight and put your feet up to take the pressure off it.

thank you nickytwotimes, I will go to my GP and ask for a referral. Sorry to be stupid - is an obs-physio an obstetrics-physio?

I carry my 11 month DD round a lot on that hip (on the left), so perhaps with the loosening of the ligaments and tendons it is now causing pain...

agree - sounds like sciatica. The sciatic nerve runs right the way into the foot. Usually changes in your posture and muscles/ligaments mean that there's pressure on the sciatic nerve. Try and sit evenly on both butt cheeks when you sit, when you stand weight evenly on both feet and never have phones/wallets in the back pockets of your jeans when you're sitting or driving! Def try and get physio too as soon as poss and don't be fobbed off.

Poss think about buying a hipchick belt - little ledge on a belt thing for toddler to perch on. Will help. Or try carrying them two handed at front if you see what I me. If not poss on either count, at least make sure you swop hips once in a while!

Thanks for the tips hatcam. shall definitely try not to carry her so much on that hip (shes big too for her age which cant help matters!).
