Placenta previa anyone?

Hi all, I have had several scans in this pregnancy for several reasons, including multiple previous losses. At my 12 week scan my placenta was noted to be anterior low. At 18 weeks it was seen clearly on a private ultrasound to be anterior low but some distance from my cervix. However, at my 20 week scan it was diagnosed as partial previa. Obviously I am a bit concerned as it appears to be dropping to a more difficult position and potential full previa rather than getting any higher so I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this? I am being scanned regularly so I will know if there is any change but I’m a little concerned.

I had low lying placenta, and it grew up as the pregnancy progressed..

I did and while it remained full previa all went well! DD was born by section at 36+6 after my waters broke at 35 weeks. I felt nervous once it was fully confirmed previa but the consultant said he simply hadn’t seen a negative outcome. Once you know and you’re close to a hospital they know what they’re doing.

That's what I am hoping but it seems to be moving down rather than up.

Thank you, so glad all went well for you. I am hoping that I dont get any bleeding episodes if it hangs around but will just take it as it comes x

I was diagnosed with this and had a few episodes of really bad bleeds. From 27 weeks. Kept in hospital from. 27-34 weeks when had an emergency c section. Baby was ok- small and in SCBU for a month but now a 30 year is serving in the RAF. The way they deal with it today may be totally different from 30yrs ago.

I also had this diagnosis, but it sorted itself before the birth. Apparently it often sorts itself which made me feel I could have done without the stress of knowing I had it at the earlier stage!

I had a complete placenta previa diagnosed at 18 weeks. No episodes of bleeding, just a million knicker-checks - very stressful. CS was planned for 37 weeks. I had an MRI the day before (not sure how I fitted into the machine) and steroid injections (ouchy!) The morning of the CS I woke up bleeding- it was as if my body knew it was go-time. I raced to hospital through a storm and luckily my husband got there in time too. Surgery went well, had a fair amount of bleeding and my daughter went to SCBU for a couple of days for her breathing. I was up and walking a few hours later - passing the surgeon in the corridor who couldn't believe it 🤣

Good luck to you - you'll be in safe hands.

I get that to be honest. I do sometimes question the amount of information available.
