Early scans - am I reading into this too much?!

Hello,

Looking for some reassurance really.

I’m 34 and this is my first pregnancy. I’m a very anxious person so have paid for two private scans one at 8 weeks 4 days and one at 10 weeks 5 days.

At the 8w4d scan the CRL was 17.2mm and the 10w5 day scan is 33.2mm. She did say it was hard getting the measurements for the second scan as baby was curled up. Everything I’ve read online is worrying me and the scan paperwork now says it measures at 10 weeks instead.

Is this normal or should I be worried?

Any help is really appreciated! :)

This is why early scans shouldn’t be a thing except for medical reasons. Absolutely nothing about that is abnormal. They’d bloody tell you or give you a referral to your hospital if there was something off.

Stop googling stuff and stressing yourself out, your baby was in an awkward position and getting accurate measurements so early is tricky.

Get support for your anxiety and stress before it actually does cause your unborn baby harm.

This is normal. It's very hard to accurately date in early pregnancy. Most places won't 'formally' date until after 8 weeks. Please try not to worry. It's very common.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.

I think I really needed to hear this today, so appreciate it a lot. I will definitely try to stay off google!

Hello, thank you so so much for taking the time to come back to me. We haven’t told any family/friends at the moment so the only person I’m speaking to is my partner. This is both of our first pregnancies so really unsure what is normal. These messages have made me feel much better. Thank you :)
