Full term stillbirth last year - having a c section at 37 weeks

I have a planned c section booked for 37 weeks due to a stillbirth at 37+2 last year, however the past two days my baby hasn’t been kicking as much or as strong as the previous days by far and I’m terrified to go another 5 days with reduced movements. They said there might be an option to bring it forward 2 days so having a c section at 36+5 but I already know they’re might be risks with her breathing at 37 weeks but if they move it forward a few days I’m even more concerned but very concerned that the reduce movements will end up in a stillbirth like last year and my baby had receded movements and then died.

I was last monitored an hour ago but movements are still way off and reduced and no movements since being off

I would ask to be monitored again if you’re in for three times a day anyway, I cannot possibly imagine they would mind

I agree with pp that I'm sure they would not mind and would totally understand if you want more than 3x monitoring. It is completely understandable that you feel anxious.

Are you still in the hospital? I think they should admit you until the c section. I would not be going anywhere if not happy with the movements. Do you have a bereavement midwife you can talk to? FWIW my 37 week c section baby was totally fine and came out much stronger than my first who was overdue and needed resuscitating. They did have a neonatal doctor and cot in the room just in case.

I am not experienced in this but it doesn't sound right that your concern is being glossed over given the parallels with your past experience with stillbirth. I would keep pushing for second and third opinions and to bring the CS forward if need be.

I would go back and ask to be admitted and to see the consultant.
I had 2 babies born early by c section, one 35th week and one 36th week. Both were born with no issues except jaundice and didn’t need help breathing or anything. They consider 37 weeks to be a full term baby so as far as premature babies go, 36+5 is very nearly there.
Please go back to hospital, you know your body, baby and pregnancy better than anybody else and you know what is and isn’t normal. I would repeat that baby is not moving normally and you want to consider an early section.
