Too much weight gain

Pre pregnancy I was 128lbs, I'm 5'8 so on the lower bmi scale. I'm roughly 13 weeks pregnant, could me more or less as I haven't had a scan yet. But I've gone up to 135lbs. I haven't been eating as much as I should as I've been extremely sick, but surely this isn't all "baby" weight just yet? I've seen anything over 4lbs gain in the first trimester is too much, so now I'm worrying. I don't remember gaining this much in my last pregnancies, but then again I was in my teens-early 20s 🙈

For me weight gain hasn't never been linear in pregnancy.
I could gain 3lbs in two weeks then not gain any in the following weeks.
I'm both pregnancy I haven't gained enough weight. I had my son 2 weeks ago and had steady weight gain up to 29 weeks and then didn't gain anything until I had to be induced at 37 weeks and struggled to maintain that weight towards the end! I developed physical complications in my pregnancy which was responsible for my lack of weight gain. With my other pregnancies I lost weight in the first trimester where as this time I had gained and I'm so glad I did as I would have struggled more than I did in the third trimester.

I wouldn't be panicking about that weight gain especially if you were smaller side. I'd cautious keep an eye on your weight gain but would look month by month rather than anything more regular than that. Remember there's quite a wide range of "normal weight" gain and weight gain isn't just baby and placenta you also have increased blood volume, increase in breast tissue, increase in fat reserves etc

I gained in two weeks then wouldn’t gain anything the next two. It’s not linear at all. Baby grows in fits and starts, just listen to your body and as long as you stay active (walking I mean, not hammering it at the gym lol) and eat a decent balanced diet as much as you can and drink plenty of water you’ll be fine!
