I'm 34 weeks and bump is so low that all I can wear is track suit bottoms. I can't sit down without my legs pushing my bump up and in to me which just makes me feel light headed and sick and my pelvis is permanently aching.

I have an 18 mo LO too and everything is a huge effort and I just want to lie down and 'opt out' all the time. It's been like this for weeks and I'm worried about how I'm going to cope with a newborn when I'm not really full of the joys of parenting at the moment as it is!

Three more weeks and you are full term and he can come out!

Seriously, I'm nearly 32 weeks and in the same boat and it's so bloody awful. The only comfy position is on all fours and DD (19 months) thinks that is the trigger to play 'horsey' by leaping on my back and pulling my hair

Honestly I think the birth will be a relief to both of us and coping with a newborn is actually a lot easier than this bit!

Try a pregnancy yoga class; I know it's the last thing you feel like doing, but it really is great for strengthening up your body to cope with the strains of pregnancy, and teaching you little things to make you more comfy. I always found I felt much better after a yoga session, and slept more soundly and everything just seemed t work better
Sitting on a birthing ball/exercise ball might be more comfy for you, because your legs can hang down a bit so won't put pressure on your tummy.

Listen to your body and rest. forget housework. do you have a birth ball? great position to rest (also good for baby) is kneeling behind it and leaning over it.

if it is the bump bringing you down at the moment you may feel a heck of a lot better when lo is out. I know I did (I just got way too big and gave up driving in the last three weeks because my bump got in the way)

Thankyouandgoodnight- I started a similar thread a while ago cos I'm fed up of being pg to! 35 weeks tomorrow and shamefully wishing this lo will come early

I'm also a bit worried about how I will cope with 2, as my ds is 3.6 but am hoping that I will feel immediately better once the baby arrives like madmouse says. It was the same with ds too and thankfully I found the early weeks relatively "easy" because I felt so much better in myself, not being pregnant any more.

So no real advice I'm afraid just wanted to let you know you're not alone! Good luckxx

Thank you so much for your supportive replies. It is also VERY reassuring to hear you talking about feeling better once the bump is empty. For a start, I will be able to wear my maternity jeans!! I am seriously wondering if I will have the energy to give birth - not that that's negotaible .

It is lovely to hear that I'm not the only one feeling like this although I am sorry to hear that other people are!

im 33 wks and it feels like someone has kicked me inbetween the legs
the pressure is relentless i just cant wait for it to be over
what is your due date?
the only relief we will get is when they arrive this has got to be the worst part of the pregnancy

It's taken me by surprise rather as I felt absolutely fine all the way through my last pregnancy. I'm due mid July. I have never known such exhaustion either!

We will all feel better once LO's out. Difficult to believe it though. I am only comfy lying down on my side. bump ache and bach ache in all other positions. 5 weeks and 5 days and counting.....

sweetkitty · 02/06/2008 20:31

Count me in too (glad to see so many familiar faces) nearly 35 weeks and so uncomfy, feel like my fanjo is hanging at my knees most of the time.

I have 18 months between my first two and felt like this towards the end of my second pregnancy, DD1 and I spent a lot of time curled up on the sofa watching cbeebies (was January as well too cold to go out). Your LO is too young to remember this rubbish Mummy time as I call it and you will feel so much better once the baby is out. I felt fantastic afterwards like a new woman once all the pressure and pain was gone. I found a newborn is much easier than being pregnant especially with other DC to looks after too.

The end is in sight ladies.

sweetkitty ive just come back from tescos and walking was a nigrmare felt like all was gonna fall out any minute im so so tired my DH rang me up as hes away tonight i was so snappy and shouted cant be bothered to speak and put the phone down
i was like some people have kids to see to you know
im awful really as hes working away for us
i am sure he cannot wait for this LO to arrive just to get a bit less earache from me
guess id better say sorry in the morning to him

LyraSilvertongue · 02/06/2008 22:32

The only way is to sit with your legs wide apart, with bump in the middle.
By the end of my pgs it felt like I was walking with a bowling ball rolling around in my pelvis. Take it easy as much as possible. There's not much else you can do.

Thankyouandgoodnight · 02/06/2008 22:36

oh and I feel like I'm in a hot airless room all the time - breathless, weak, faint etc....DH is going away for 2 nights for work and then 5 nights in a couple of weeks time - I dreading it!

My 2 faves were

  • Great big maternity support pants (think Bridget Jones crossed with an elephant's knickers)
  • Get in a swimming pool as often as possible and cry from the sheer weightless bliss
