OK, I'm nearly 38 wks pregnant, have a 22 month old DD. 3 stone overweight and sick to death of spending every night infront of the TV and laptop!

I'm up for doing anything to make the time go faster - anyone got any suggestions? Unusual hobbies to try? ANYTHING?

Something like sewing or knitting is quite good as you can do it sitting down. Painting etc. can be a bit too active if you are really heavily pg. What about having friends round for chats?

Get some building work done on your house?

Ever tried braiding your own hair? That can kill an afternoon.

Find an old person and ask them about childbirth 'in their day' (always good for a lark - best to pick a woman though).

Make a belly cast with your DD.

Make christmas crackers. Do some early christmas shopping online.

2 things that I've done that have helped pass the evenings are getting into face book and watching the apprentice.

If you have the energy I suggest cooking for the freezer.

Planting seeds? doing cross stitch? reading? baths?

Fill your diary with nice things that you won't easily be able to do for a while with the baby - cinema trips, a night out with girl friends, date night with dh etc.

If the sun shines spend the afternoon with your feet in the paddling pool, reading your book while watching your LO play.

Much sympathy, I'm also 38 weeks, have a simialar aged dd (plus 5 year old ds) and am getting increasingly fed up!!

thought of another - sort out all your photos of your dd before you have another!

Pick up a copy of 'Active Birth' by Janet Balaskas?

It has many gentle pre birth/preparation for birth exercises and is quite an interesting read too

Or, knit/make something for your baby? I always start something for mine in the weeks before they're due and without exception have never managed to finish anything on time yet. Attempting to finish passes the time though!

Iron all the babygrows it will get you in the mood and you'll never ever do it again!
