Evening everyone. So I will be 37 when I have this baby only 4 weeks pregnant. I have 3 kids already 17/14 & 5. Me and husband share 5 year old he also has 2 kids from previous relationship same ages as mine. We have had rough couple years I’ve felt like leaving several times. We have been getting on really well last 6 months. He wanted another baby I didn’t mind not been on anything for year and half (not over active until last couple month) I guess I feel a little nervous being pregnant at this age compared to others (18/21/31) any other older pregnant women? How are you finding pregnancy??

I had my first at 37, my second at 40. I absolutely loved it. I didn't have older children to factor in so I can't speak to that, but the actual experience of being pregnant at that age? Amazing. Having a newborn - also amazing. No complications with the pregnancy, healthy happy babies born. I didn't feel old, I wasn't excessively tired. In fact, I didn't feel any different to how I did in my 20s and 30s.

I had mine at 36, 38 and just before my 42nd birthday. Other than general pregnancy related issues all pregnancies and labours went well. I do now have health issues which have affected being a mother but this could have happened any time, they are not necessarily age related.

Round here 37 would be an utterly normal age even for a first time mum, let alone a third baby!

I’d say you’re still very much within the realms of normal and I wouldn’t be expecting any issues as a result of your age…?

I thought you were going to say you’re 47, not 37! It’s not a first baby anyway, and it’s certainly not “old” for a subsequent one. Enjoy!

I asked my mum whether she felt differently about her pregnancies (she had me when she was 20, and my brothers when she was 32 and 36) and she said she was much more exhausted at 36 and recovered a lot more slowly from the last pregnancy. But she had also had 3 children to look after then, so I’m sure that’s a big factor.
