So due to me having gestational diabetes the doctors said I may have to be induced between 38-39 weeks so she is moving me 38 weeks growth scan to 36 weeks but baby is measuring normal so I didn’t try ink there would be need. Anyone else has an experience with GD and being induced.

I had borderline results so was diet controlled. Baby was measuring normal on growth scans so the latest they let me push it to was 40+4, so that baby could come before 41 weeks. This was my 3rd baby but 1st induction which actually went really well and was on the whole a positive experience. Is this your 1st baby? Are there any other reasons why they want to induce you earlier?

This is my second baby I never had GD with second and my midwife at GP said don’t see why not full term I do take tablets as diet could not control it but the doctor today (not my usual one) was adamant she moved the scan and said have to because placenta may stop working

I too didn't have GD with my other pregnancies so was quite new for me in this pregnancy. I found reading Dr Sara Wickham's research really useful.

When it's diet controlled you can generally go a bit longer ie term, or close to term. When requiring meds the risks are greater so that can impact timing of the birth. I would ask them for the stats, pros and cons to help you understand the reasoning better. GD can be complicated and there are a lot of variables that influence decision making.
