Hi there just wanted opinion on this so I have growth scans due to my GD and I always check out the readings online afterwards as the when I ask the ladies that scan they don’t say much anyway it says my femur length is on the shorter side but within average. Now dad is 6.8ft he is super tall I am so confused that aside it also could mean a problem with growth can someone give and experience they have had with this just a bit worried everything else is fine will post my readings. Just thinking is it because how he was lying and because he was active because I find it strange his legs are on the shorter side.

I’m no expert, but that graph seems to indicate that the range is between 60 - 70mm, in which case your measurement of 62.3mm is less than a centimeter below the highest centile. I think there can definitely be some error with such small measurements.

From the chart it looks like your baby is growing consistently.

I do wonder how much the potential error is. I would think the position of the baby might affect accuracy.

Also I would think you would need to look at all the measurements together and compare them with previous readings to get a more reliable picture.

I had one scan where I asked would they mind redoing the femur length because it came in at something like 20th centile, when both my husband and I are much taller than average. She measured twice more and suddenly got 80-85th centile. Just goes to show how difficult it can be to get accurate measurements. Mere millimetres can make a huge difference.
Once they are within the normal range they won't be concerned. They only really get concerned if less than 5th/10th centile. And they would let you know if they had any worries x
