Thrombosed haemorrhoids…

looking to speak to people with experience in this…

I can deal with normal ones, had them before with my first - no biggy

however 2nd pregnancy - 32 weeks and BAM the worst pain. From my research it was
100% thrombosed and bigger than a grape.

the pain was so bad and lasted for days, I could have cried everytime I walked and nothing relieved the pain. After about a week to 2 of agony it finally started to subside.

now 35 weeks and it’s happened again!!! I haven’t had any issue with bowel movements or constipation etc so it must just be the pressure of pregnancy.

now I’m back to being unable to walk without pain and it’s getting worse, I now know I’ve got this for at least 2 weeks start to finish - don’t know if I can do it 😭

i had a 3B tear with my first and the pain of this is WAY worse than the recovery for that!!

my question is - anyone have any miraculous remodies? Even a way to make it burst for some relief!!

ANDD if this will somehow affect labour too? Will it be worst after??

just any experience good or bad PLEASEEEE

😭😭😭

I had these with my second baby OP, I sympathise totally. The only thing that gave me relief was lying with a damp, cold tea towel or muslin cloth (plenty knocking about for the prospective baby) properly wedged between my bum cheeks! Lie on your side and wedge right it in there and make sure it’s super cold. This burst mine (I think - or it may have been coincidence) and the relief was immediate plus the cold helps the bleeding stop. The nurse who recommended it was a lifesaver.

I was so worried about the future - but mine seemed to subside after the monster one popped and they didn’t bother me after the birth or anytime since. Hope it’s the same for you OP

I had this and I agree it is horrific. The cold does help - I soaked sanitary towels in water then put in a freezer bag and froze it. That provided lovely relief at least for a while.

I feel compelled to reply to posts about this as I remember how utterly miserable it made me. I was in so much pain that it consumed my every waking minute.
The only things that brought me any relief were Germaloids ointment as it has a numbing agent and lots of epsom salt baths. It's a bit tmi but I managed to shrink the thrombosed one by massaging it between my fingers in the bath.

I’m in the same situation at the minute OP. I’m 34+4 with my third and currently struggling with my third flare up this pregnancy. It is agony - I almost had to leave work this morning I couldn’t contemplate how I was going to sit in an office chair all day, I’ve been close to tears.

Having had a number of flare ups now (I got them for the first time ever pushing out DC1 11 years ago) nothing works for me but germoloids applied regularly throughout the day and paracetamol.

The thought of having to go through labour like this is sending me west.

Same here. In the office all day today trying to sit at an angle that didn’t hurt and dreading the thought of doing it all again tomorrow. 😭

Going to work prepped with pain killers!! Urgh it’s horrid.

Actually I have them ice packs/pass for after labour! Maybe I’ll give them a go for this instead!! Thanks

I sympathise, I had one two years ago and it was so painful I had to take 2 days off work and I have given birth twice with two second tears with no pain relief!!

Short term, frozen peas in a sandwich bag wrapped in a cloth between the bum cheeks was the most effective.

GP was incredibly unsympathetic and pretty much told me off for phoning, apparently I should suffer for 7 days before seeking medical advice. She did however prescribe scheriptroct ointmentswhich helped (not sure if you can use when preggo)

The pain is horrendous and over consuming.
Soaked in water snd frozen sanitary towel.
Wedged.
Should burst it.
Pain killers

I had haemorrhoids really bad after my 2nd pregnancy. They appeared after giving birth. The GP referred me the hospital they were that bad. The hospital recommended covering the harmorrhoids in sugar. It draws out fluid and reduces the swelling. Google it and you will see what I mean. It worked for me.
