Awful pgp only 20 weeks

I’m 21 weeks pregnant, this is my second DC. With my first I suffered pgp from about 20 weeks onwards and it didn’t start to get better until over 10 months post partum. This time I’ve been suffering since about 12 weeks and it’s getting worse.

I am finding it incredibly painful to walk far, roll over in bed and get dressed. I find it hard to sit at my desk all day. I’m also finding it painful to urinate as it seems to irritate the muscles there. Is this normal? I have a toddler and I am really struggling to pick him up or get on the floor to play or change him.

My midwife said NHS physio is just a phone call, I had this last time and found it useless. Has anyone found a remedy that works?

I don’t have pgp but have sciatica - I’m only 13 weeks and already in so much pain. It’s just unbareable being in pain - especially when the end point seems so far away. I also have a toddler and have so much guilt. We used to go to the park every day and in the past 3 weeks, we have gone maybe 3 times. Walking just makes me cry and the pain is completely unbearable. I can’t imagine what it’ll be like when I actually have a large bump too.
i was prescribed codeine but it doesn’t touch the sides at all, so I’ve stopped taking it.
sorry I don’t have advice I just wanted to show some solidarity! We will get through it even though it seems impossible right now (telling myself this as much as you) x

Im 27 weeks and had PGP since around 20 weeks that did start getting worse.
I bought a ball to roll on and a pregnancy belt (only like £25 on amazon) and wear it every time i know im going to be busy and on my feet, i also bought some crocs to slip on and theyre the thick sole ones, i find comfort on my feet, the belt and ny ball have helped a little. In bed at night i have a pregnancy pillow a 'U' shaped one. I find having it between my legs helps as well. It takes pressure off my hips as it seems like theyre trying to move and babys moving so it keeps everything aligned.

I hope this helps, PGP is an absolute nightmare!!

The best thing for it is physio. I suffered with it in my first pregnancy, midwife referred to NHS physio and it was like you say just pointless really- 1 “session” which was ultimately just a short chat and no use. I went privately to get physio weekly from I think it was about 24 weeks and it was honestly amazing the difference it made, worth its weight in gold absolutely. They assess you, work out where the imbalances actually are as in what muscles and from there give you exercises specific to you, they told me how best to sit, stand, lie etc, helped with some manual adjustments and then they recheck and adjust every week, that physio along with heat & cold packs was a total game changer.

Currently 27 weeks pregnant with baby number 2, baby number 1 only 16 months old so very much running around after a toddler constantly and went back to the same physio to start again as soon as I felt the PGP pain creeping back in- again, total game changer this time.
