Pants!

Don't laugh - I am still wearing the same pants that I had before I got pregnant. TMI, but I haven't got any bigger around my bum/hips and my pans fit under my bump so haven't seen the need to change (just wear regular thongs/g-strings). Anyway, I went to see a physio about my spd and whilst she was fitting me with a glamorous tubi-grip she told me that I should be wearing maternity pants. I asked her what they were and she said that they provided more support...
I'm 5'10" and a size 12 (occasionally a 14 in some trousers if I'm honest), so I don't think she was talking about anything other than my bump .
Anyway, does anyone else wear these special pants & are they neccessary? I find it especially confusing as I'm now in a giant tubi-grip 24/7, so don't see why I need support as my poor bump is pretty held in by that!
Thanks.

I never wore "special pants"

I did exactly what you are doing. However I have no personal experience of SPD so might that be relevant - perhaps not as you already have tubigrip.

How pregnant are you though - I am fine till I get to the third trimester and then knickers start to creep. Mind you I just buy a bigger sized and invest in old lady specials from M&S.

I'm 28+5.
And they made me wear my tubi grip under my pants . I have reverted as I think they only did it to make it easier to go to the loo (either that or they just wanted a laugh)...

I found the tubigrip completely useless for my SPD - they roll down too much and are just sweaty and nasty. You have skin to hold you together, why does a bit of elastic prevent excessive hormone release?

It's very flattering though - doesn't make me look like I have a lumpy @rse or anything!! I wore it last night for the first time and found it much better for the first half of the night (didn't hurt everytime I moved) however woke up hot and bothered and had to take it off at about 3am. Will give it one more try tonight. Am also struggling with the pillow under my knees - wake up with sore hips! Ah well, have a follow up appt next Friday.....
Sounds like I don't need big pant though

I actually go knickerless beneath my maternity trousers to avoid the VPL look

how SILLY was that comment? I totally wore my pre-pg pants (well the biggest ones if I'm honest!) all the way through and I didn't need extra support so unless you feel like you need under wiring then ignore! Gosh these people. Every one is different so just do what feels right for you.

Hope you're all doing well.

I read about this somewhere that they help support your streching tummy muscles {abit like a bra}so can help your stomach post baby, dont know if its true [looking at flabby tummy post 5 yrs and thinking maybe I should of tried]
