Not so much “normal”
as definitely fairly common and… bad luck!

Chocolateaddict999 · 14/08/2025 09:23

Really varies between people. I was very sick till week 14 and then had it occasionally till week 16 or 17 and then it was mostly fine. I did find still that certain foods or smells triggered it even after 17 weeks but once I figured out what it was easy to avoid.

wonderstuff · 14/08/2025 09:23

I stopped feeling sick the moment I gave birth - I was more delighted by that than the baby. Sorry.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 14/08/2025 09:28

Mine stopped at 20 weeks then returned at 32 weeks for about six weeks .

AnonKat · 14/08/2025 09:31

My worst weeks were 16-21, its basically dissappeared now at nearly 24 weeks.

Bradley28 · 14/08/2025 09:33

I was sick and nauseous every day when I was pregnant with my daughter. Didn’t register how awful I felt until she was born, then instantly felt better and could actually eat. With my son, not sick once. No nausea at all.

RaspberryRipple2 · 14/08/2025 09:35

I took anti sickness meds til 20 weeks with dd2, but was unable to eat normally and felt fairly nauseous all of the time until immediately after she was born. Sorry! Giving birth was however an instant cure for that and the bleeding gums - it’s very strange!

PersephonePomegranate · 14/08/2025 09:35

Mine relented around 20 weeks and I felt great after that. I was extremely disappointed that it didnt just disappear at 12 weeks like I was expecting and every day felt like a miserable slog (I also had an all day hangover type feeling every day), so you have my sympathies!

A friend also experienced this but didn't have the heart to tell me that it can drag on!

Charabanc · 14/08/2025 09:35

For me, eating wheat of any kind would make me nauseous and give me awful heartburn.

DidIdotheritething · 14/08/2025 09:39

I was still puking in the corridor waiting to be admitted to the delivery suite.

Haha same, I felt amazing after giving birth each time, sickness gone, no longer enormous and uncomfortable and starving hungry after spending weeks puking/with indigestion etc. I feasted for weeks!

childofthe607080s · 14/08/2025 09:44

Yip lasted till birth

got to know the local laundrette well

edit to add - I do think it made the early few months after birth a bit easier though !

frazzledbutcalm · 14/08/2025 09:50

Yep, can be perfectly normal .. mine only stopped the minute I gave birth 🤷‍♀️

Kreepture · 14/08/2025 09:52

mine went about 15 weeks, then came back at 20 and hung around for another 6 weeks!

ScMTB · 14/08/2025 10:01

Yes can be normal, currently 29 weeks and still being sick every single day 😕

I've mentioned it at all appointments and noone seems concerned, I just get a poor you comment. If your really struggling go to the GP though, there are medications they can give x

ChangingChances89 · 14/08/2025 10:14

24 weeks and still on sickness meds

SpottyDottie98 · 14/08/2025 10:46

I had nausea and sickness with both my pregnancies until 34 weeks. If you're struggling, see your GP, they can give you something to help.

Early3Rise · 14/08/2025 10:58

Yes, mine stopped about week 18.
On DC2 it then came back a few times after that :(

With both, the peak was weeks 7-11

ChangingChances89 · 14/08/2025 11:16

yeh im on meds too but they only take edge off. dont think i cud cope without them tho. feels never endin some days 😩 glad im not only 1 still dealin with it this far along tho.

My body didn't get that memo either, I was throwing up almost daily right up until I gave birth (and during). My body also didn't get the "morning" reference in Morning Sickness so it was virtually all the time.

Have you let the GP know that you’re still vomiting with the meds?

I have had a lot of vomiting but on cyclizine I don’t vomit at all, just feel nauseous.

SpottyDottie98 · 14/08/2025 12:44

What are you taking? I had cyclizine and prochloperazine, neither or which helped so I was given Xonvea, which was a game changer.

ChangingChances89 · 14/08/2025 13:55

im on cyclizine. it helps a bit but still gettin sick most days. midwife said might try diff one if it dont calm down soon. feel like i spend half my life over the sink atm 🤢
