Lochia for 2 weeks? Normal?

Hey guys, I gave birth to DS2 on 15 July via EMCS, and I’m so confused because I literally only had lochia for 2 weeks after my c section? Since the last 7 days there’s been nothing. Is this normal? I thought the average is 6 weeks or something like that? With DS1 it lasted for 30 days, but this time it was 2 weeks? And that too wasn’t that heavy? Is it normal?

I only bled for 2-3 weeks and was surprised it wasn’t heavy after the first few days. I’ve only had one so don’t know if that was normal but I had no issues!

Ah @dreamerkr I wondered how you had gone on after seeing your other threads.
Congratulations on your new son!
You wanted to go for a VBAC if I recall correctly - I guess it didn't work out? I hope you are fine with the change in birth plan!!

(Sorry, nowt to do with your question!)

Thank you so much! Haha yep, it didn’t work out. The balloon induction worked I guess to get me to 4cm, and they put me on the hormone drip after that which messed everything up. My heart rate got super high (over 140), baby’s heart rate got really high too and I got to 6cm and the contractions slowed right down. They had to do an EMCS but thankfully recovery has been so quick and easy. ☺️

It can be a lot shorter with a CSection than after a natural delivery. I was told it’s because the surgeons can give you a bit of a ‘clean up’ internally so there’s less stuff to come away.
