Birth after prolapse

Had a c-section with first baby as breech. Second baby had a VBAC- really positive experience and straightforward delivery (although quite long) BUT ended up with a mild anterior prolapse. Now expecting third baby and wondering what to opt for? Another VBAC and take the risk that the prolapse doesn't worse or go for an elective c-section. Preferred my VBAC as a birth experience and recovery was easier in the short term but worried about worsening the prolapse. It is currently totally manageable with kegels and most of the time I do not notice it at all- usually asymptomatic. Any experiences out there?

Thinking about post menopause I would go for c-section.

Nope but I deal with elderly women with prolapses. There really is not thought for future post menopausal women when vaginal births are pushed. Different budgets.

I had an EMCS with my first, VBAC with second which resulted in a 3rd degree tear and prolapse. An elective section felt like a no brainer to me, I had two electives for babies 3 and 4 and they were wonderful. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Oh thank you. That’s lovely to hear that they were positive. How was the recovery with other little ones at home if you don’t mind me asking?

Recovery with both was easy, it makes such a difference starting it off well rested (rather than an EMCS after labour). One was during Covid times with weird social distancing and even with that it was fine I was glad to have done the VBAC but the prolapse really affected my mood, so I didn’t want to take the risk of it worsening.
