Increased baby movement

I'm 27 weeks, 5 days pregnant, is it normal to feel baby feeling lots randomly? I normally feel him once or twice a day, but he's been very active for the last 3 hours or so.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The advice is to get checked out if there is any change in the pattern of movements. The maternity unit will never mind checking you and baby.

As above, pattern changes need to be checked. But in general, more movement is much less of a concern than a decrease in movement. It could be that he's gone head down or moved so you're feeling the movements a lot more as only feeling once or twice a day isn't much at all.

Chances are this is fine and down to position change, BUT the advice is there for a reason.
A decision has to be made - is this worth getting checked out? Should you make that decision, presumably with little medical experience? Or should a midwife make that decision? Phone them and ask!

Phone and see what they say. It’s most likely a position change. But always best to get checked if you’re unsure.

Call triage and ask them. I called with increased movements and they asked a few questions and then told me I didn’t need to go in to be checked but to call back if I felt I needed to go in.
