please does someone actually know how is it with vitamin a in first trimester? I just found out, there is added vitamin a in form of retinol into a kids ham we keep on buying -_-

there is 200 µg per 100 gr, i usually eat more than half of it since the only other eater would be my 2 year old. Do not buy it anymore, it was a treat food for my little one as he loves it. I am 10 weeks pregnant, we bought like 8 packs i would say since i became pregnant.

am i freaking out over nothibg, or cause for concern?

According to babycentre Pregnant women over 19 years old need 770mcg RAE per day (retinol activity equivalents) and 200 international units is only 5mcg, and you said that’s per 100g.
it only causes birth defects and toxicity in high doses.

That won’t have done any harm. They say to avoid liver products because of very high amounts of vitamin A, such as 6,500mcg in 3 ounces of beef liver.

thank you so much! I also asked my doctor and she said it was a very small dose, thank you for putting my mind at ease!
