Miscarriage, molar pregnancy

Just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation. I had a scan at 6 weeks 4 days and also 7 weeks 4 days all measuring normal with a heartbeat but couldn't rule out molar pregnancy. I then had a scan at 9 weeks 2 days and said there was no heartbeat and measuring 7 weeks 5 days . Im so worried they got it wrong and wished I had gone for another scan or a private scan and beating myself up thinking what if everything was OK and I didn't give it chance by asking going for another scan .

Sorry for your loss,
your post is a bit confusion as getting another scan wouldn’t have stopped the miscarriage it would have happened either way . Also if there was a heartbeat why would they at the time mention a molar pregnancy as a molar pregnancy would not have a heartbeat

I’m so sorry you’ve been through this.

I have had a molar pregnancy but no heartbeat and only found out on testing the mass removed.

But I think your doubt is normal. I cursed myself for not getting a second opinion but you’ve got to think - these people are professionals who do this day in day out. If there’s even a slightest doubt in their mind they would get someone to confirm.

Did you have the surgical management? For my molar that was the preferred (only?) option to ensure all cells removed. I found it a lot easier to deal with on learning it was a molar pregnancy as knew then it could never have become a baby.

I thought this too as have had a molar pregnancy and never a chance of a heartbeat. But I’ve googled it and there are different types of molar pregnancy - partial and complete. Apparently an early heartbeat is possible dependent on the type.

Spinning tops yes I've had surgical just waiting for results, I think it was only partial molar as that's why there was a heartbeat. Thanks for your time to respond to the post xx

Mumoftwo2022 . Its is a partial molar possibly where there can be a heartbeat but only survives so long. But they weren't sure if it was. I know another scan wouldn't have changed anything but you hear of hospitals getting things wrong sometimes that's what is on my mind at the min xx
