Just wondering if any others here are fibromyalgia or cfs patients & pregnant?

Or positive pregnancy/ birth stories of those who have been through this?

Thanks

Hello, congratulations!

I have had CFS for best part of a decade. Have two DC - 9 months, and 3 years.
I was still fairly ill when we started TTC, but better than I had been, and I was determined not to let this cruel illness deprive me of the thing I wanted most, after everything else it had already taken from me.

I found pregnancy okay. CFS is much worse than pregnancy, so that kind of made things easier.

Tell your midwife about it. Mine was supportive and wrote stuff in my notes and birth plan, and I ended up getting a private side room on the postnatal ward with DC1, which helped me rest after birth.

I quickly learned to breastfeed lying down - SO much easier for me.

I know it’s all been harder than if I’d been more “well”, but I feel so grateful for all the positives, and I love my DC to the ends of the earth, so totally worth it.

Let me know if you have any specific questions x

Oh I’m very sorry to hear that. We had a loss too, then had some further fertility issues (not IVF though), so I understand wanting to take it one step at a time. I will cross my fingers and toes for you.
If the midwife appointment is the booking appointment beware that it may be long and intense. I was absolutely exhausted by mine both times, so use your knowledge of pacing and make sure you rest before and after.
